The NFL Draft

So who is as pissed at their favorite team as I’m at the Dolphins?

Linebacker my ass

Any bets on which first round, million dollar quarterback with be the first flameout?

I’m pleased with the Packers getting a LB and a DT/DE, the Packer defense has been kind of suspect for a while now

I was at school yesterday, otherwise I do normally watch the draft religiously. But when I got home, I was puzzled by that as well. Didn’t the 'Phins just sign Jr. Seau? He’s only like one of the greatest LB’s of all time. So, like, why the hell do they draft a linebacker with their first pick? And they only had 2 picks on Day One to begin with. Jeez.

My hometown Seahawks drafted a Cougar with their first pick. I really don’t understand Trufaunt’s hype… whenever my Huskies played the Cougs, Trufaunt was a total non-factor every time.

My Redskins conducted the draft early this year and signed half the Jets roster to offer sheets. I am so glad I was able to see the Redskins win a few superbowls in my lifetime because lord knows that without a real GM we will never get back.

Maybe my Giants will finally have someone else to ease off the Strahan double-teams with William Joseph. If Shockey is the current Giants’ version of Mark Bavaro in the 80s, maybe Joseph can be good enough to be this team’s version of Leonard Marshall.

Dallas Clark is going to play some catch with Peyton Manning next season. Forgive the hometown jingoism, but that guy should have gone higher. He has the work ethic of a team of oxen. Big and fast too, he started out as a LB, and runs the 40 in about 4.7-4.8. He averaged almost 17 yards a catch at tight end. Clark even made Brad Banks look like a Heisman caliber QB, which he definitely was not. What a steal for the Colts.

Yeah, but he’s also one million-billion years old, so he’s lost a step.

" He’s only like one of the greatest LB’s of all time. "

Yes he is. He’s also at the end of his career, and is not the same player. He is still good I will agree but I doubt he will still be in the league in 2 years. He’s a short term solution.

It’s funny Lloyd is upset with the Dolphins. I didn’t catch all the hubbub about it, but have heard that many Dolphins fans are unhappy. I also hear on some bulletin board somewhere the Dolphin fans are so upset they changed a thread title from “Dolphins draft” to “What the F@@K?”

I think our Seahawks actually did pretty good this time. This is the first year ever that I am not cynical about their chances. It all depends on the consistency of Hasslebech and Alexander(which is suspect) but time will tell.

The Bengals had a pretty good draft considering that of their first four picks, one has a broken neck and the other was shot in the back. I’m hoping if they can’t win any games there at least might be an ER spinoff in the works as a midseason replacement next year on NBC.
