This is my perspective. I get so sick of films were the main character’s flaws is that they want it all, they work too hard, or they want to save everyone. It’s featureless and toothless.
It’s wonderful when a director deep-dives into someone like a Travis BIckle, Paul Snider, or a Reynolds Woodcock, and explores unpleasant parts of humanity.
