It is an overreaction that occurs time and again and nobody knows why they are reacting the same way again and again. Naturally, should one event occur at one point, and they received a warning, there will be the usual media crusade to blame someone. With all the security bs at airports already, do they also need the hysteria with “no trigger words, jokes and whatnot” prior to or during the trip. It is a mass hysteria that is allowed to propagate. If so called terrorists want to blow up a plane, they’ll do it, then claim credit for it - why waste all the effort to put a bomb on a plane if only to warn about it and see the plot foiled – it makes no sense - especially in the sense of the wing of political “jihadi” islam that absolutely want to kill people. A lot of people make threats online or offline, or just jokes that are misunderstood. If the powers that be are going to go into crisis mode every time they get a tweet they would get nothing done. I get the impression that those making the decisions to ground a plane or block a street or deploy troops into a busy city intersection act in an effort to justify all the time, effort and money spent into the “security” industry than it being done for any reasons actually involving responding to a credible threat to secure life/property/environment. Still, it makes headlines, sell newspapers, gets “air time” so they can get their name out, and it probably gives them a chance to practice their routines and hone their (other) skills so it is not a total “waste of everyones time”.
Back to the PS4.
Been thinking about buying one for weeks now, but I haven’t really paid attention to what titles are available and what I really should get for it (i.e. , is it worth it to get it yet or are the number of titles too limited). I’m thinking I might get Killzone and the new Metal Gear Solid, but outside of that I have no idea what titles are worth getting. And, since MGS will also be on the PC (as well as GTA5) (although they might be bad ports). So; What titles would people say that “This is the title worth getting a PS4 for!”.
Another thing; Is the Warframe version for PS4 playing on the same servers as the PC version - anyone know?
Speaking of storage size for the PS4: Have they said anything about SKUs with higher storage capacity or will it remain 500GB for the foreseable future? Maybe might as well get the lowest storage SKU, throw away the 500GB floppy, then add a much much larger drive immediately?
Destiny, based on the alpha and beta, is going to be really good and is console only for now. Infamous: Second Son is pretty good, and very nice looking. If you didn’t have a PS3, Last of Us Remastered is a must have. The P.T. thing is also a must play and FREE.

From my beta experience on a game I was prepared to dismiss as a cynical Halo fan that thinks the formula is beyond tired, I agree Destiny looks good. I think Plants Vs Zombies is an outstanding shooter as well although it is available on every other platform. If you have any other Sony devices, PS+ is a pretty awesome deal. If you have a Vita and good wifi infrastructure, remote play is a life changer.
I will sort of agree with the Last of Us, but in a highly qualified way. I think TLoU is a very memorable game with terrible gameplay. It is like a great book that is hard to get into and marred with awkward prose. I found the beginning fairly “what the hell is everyone drinking”, but after pushing through to the middle point of the game, the story and characters carried the experience-- big time. I finished it this weekend, which is saying a lot as I never finish games. However it was real work getting though the miserably boring, clunky, and repetitive chunks to be heftily rewarded by the overall experience.
Yea, I watched a twitch of parts of that PT Thing (if thats the one for Silent Hill?) and it looked stellar. Destiny looks very interesting as well. I guess you can get into beta and start playing already for that one?
I’m hoping Sony come out with a MAG2 for the PS4, and that KZ:SF multi is similar to KZ2 as it was a lot of fun on the PS3.
Maybe I grab one for September, hopefully know how much (more) money the Parachute jumping course I am taking will cost by then :) Was waiting for them to drop maybe 25-50$ in price. Guess I can try to wait until November 28 / Black Friday.
I guess TLOU:R is a better ‘bet’ than Heavy Rain. Which I purchased (twice (one time by accident)) for my PS3. I never really finished that one.
In fact, I only ever finished MGS4 of all the games I own on my PS3. The best thing would be to decided that “I’ll get a PS4 once I complete all the PS3 games I own…” – alternatively that all the PS3 games would be playable on my PS4 (Which they probably will at one point… as “GameName HD”. )

I so far have been disappointed by The Last of Us. I frankly do not understand what is so special about it. The writing is fairly good, but the actual game play is really boring and derivative. Basically, exactly the kind of linear game where you just face a bunch of set pieces in a row that I thought we had gotten rid of years ago in favor of better open world games like the Batman series.
You can usually approach encounters a few ways especially later when you have more gear. I pretty much stealthed the game with bow and takedowns after a point. The winter level is also one of my favorite bits from last gen.
Infamous First Light seems pretty good so far too btw.
It’s about the story, the delivery and the execution. I could have done without 80% of the gameplay (it was better than uncharted, but there was too much of it), but I still thought it was a fantastic game nonetheless. However, story, delivery and execution demand you see most of the game before they get to you…
I actually grew to like the gameplay in LoU quite a bit, maybe because I played it on the hardest difficulty level so it was a real challenge. No other game has made gunplay seem as realistically difficult, and you really are forced to use all of the weapons, because you never have enough of everything. I disliked the early part of the game when you were set up in some awkward situations with Clickers in some tough fights and annoying pattern recognition, but it eventually all comes together.
Sony just announced a bunch of new PS4 games at a JP conference. Unfortunately, 90% of them are ports, remakes, or simultaneous releases with PS3 and/or Vita, and there’s very little chance of some of the remaining titles (like Yakuza Zero and Dragon Quest Musou) coming to the west at all. So, uh, I hope you guys like Earth Defense Force 4.1, yet another Neptunia game, and the HD version of the Resident Evil remake!
I guess some of you might care a lot that Persona 5 is also coming to PS4.

We will probably see a year or more with simultanous releases with the PS3, before that starts to dwindle off.
Soo many great games coming for the PS4 though - Its a great time to be a gamer.
There actually aren’t as many simultaneous PS3 releases as there are simultaneous Vita releases (unsurprising, given that this was a Japan-focused conference and the Vita sells better than the PS3 and PS4 combined over there), though it seems both Yakuza and Dragon Quest are also on PS3, not PS4-exclusive as I originally thought. The only non-port PS4 exclusives are the new Hot Shots Golf, a new Gundam game of some sort, Disgaea 5 (which will assuredly get a Vita port with more content two years after the PS4 version’s release), and a couple of “announcements” that don’t even have real titles yet.
Oddly enough, there was some sort of Touhou Project announcement, which would have me very interested if: a. it weren’t apparently just a compilation of fangames, and b. it had any chance whatsoever of leaving Japan.

So am I gonna lose my Diablo 3/Skylanders saves if I install a new drive or are they synced to the cloud?
You can copy them to USB first. Also if you have Plus you get cloud saves.

I know the consensus here is that the PS4 is the better system, but this is a situation where I must give props to both the XB1 and WiiU. I added external drives to both those systems to expand my downloaded content, while with the PS4 I have to actually replace (and move data) to a new drive. Really wish they would add external drive capability as well to their system.
