When i first got my ps4 (just recently), i had to read the manual to figure out how to turn it on.
Yeah, those capacitive buttons aren’t exactly well marked.

Are there any sales or deals for previous owners of Pinball Arcade or Pinball FX2? I have all on PC, many on iPad, and some of Xbox360. These play best and are most comfortable on PS4 but they are very expensive for someone who has them on other platforms.
Not unless you were buying tables for PS3/PS Vita. All the Zen Pinball stuff got free upgrades to PS4 versions and Pinball Arcade offered a slight upgrade.
I needed to use a flashlight shining directly on the buttons to even see those tiny 1.5mm symbols!

I don’t understand how this problem even exist. I don’t remember any problem with PC games. Networking for PS4/Sony/Bungie has to be atrocious.
I got fixed the next day. I think what changing the mtu did was force the communication in some compatibility mode that is limited but more resilient to problems.
PSN and Sony networking sucks.

To be fair, they were doing quite a bit of fiddling after the lizard folks attacked. I don’t recall having too many issues with my ps3 network connections before I moved to the ps4. I think it’s just one of those times where you have to be patient and wait for Sony to finish doing whatever it is they’re doing. Making any changes to the network on your end could result in the system either not working, or just working badly after Sony does finish.

It was already struggling to provide a service before the DDoS. It took days for 30 characters text messages to reach my console. Their maintenance downtimes where frequent and lasted many hours, and where made in european prime time. This is a paid service, not some freebie handled by volunteers of a ONG, they have to provide the service we paid them for, and in my eyes, they are failing at that.

I wonder if they used a different server network for the ps4 then, as my ps3 service was pretty stable for years (with the exception of the occasional network attacks from script kiddies).
Why should they improve the service when people keep paying them money.

I really want one of these:
Since the ps4 is my main system this generation and I buy all games digitally I’ve already filled up half of the 1.5TB internal hdd that I upgraded on day 1. Dropping in a 4TB or larger 3.5" sounds awesome.

I feel like psn works better on ps4 than it did on ps3. Downloading at the least is functionally fast vs. ps3 (‘oh an update? nevermind, I’ll use the 360’)
That is good to hear, whenever I downloaded something on my old PS3 it always felt like it took ages.
This has been my experience as well.
Whenever i’d download anything on psn on my ps3, it was significantly slower than downloading something from my desktop (both wired and the only major user of the network at the time). My Ps4 seems to go about the same speed.
However, i’m not sure whether this is because sony improved PSN (ie it would affect ps3 if i tried it now) or if it is something in the ps4.
Even more noticeably is that you no longer have to wait a minute to enter any store functions, even from the main menu. Going to the store is now instant, even when running a game and you don’t need to stop the game (unless i remember wrong). This is a huge improvement in user experience. I always dreaded doing anything in the store because of the huge delay in opening it.
Also, probably just because I never paid attention, it will download and install a game while you play something else.
The other day I started a download while my youngest fired up Minecraft figuring it would just resume when she was finished. Playing split screen with her and a bit later see notification pop up that it had finished installing.
Very cool. Never even noticed a hitch while playing.

I really want to play The Last of Us but with the small amount I’ve used my XBox 360 I can’t justify buying another console - plus my wife would never agree. What is the typical price curve of Playstations? Even the PS3 isn’t exactly cheap now.

I would not expect a price drop until maybe holidays next year. When sony is outselling the competition, they do not drop the price for a looong time. (especially now I’d think ,since they are broke and vomiting cash except for playstation)
We’ve had that same TLoU box in every store in Canada for the past year. What game came with your standard PS4s before this one?
The Playstation Now subscription service is starting today. I would love to hear impressions if anyone gives that a try.
