If it’s possible, you could do what I did. Buy a ps3, play the last of us and uncharted 2 (cheap second hand copies) to completion, then sell the ps3 and games again. Total cost: about sixty quid. Also, perfect crime as far as significant other was concerned.

I’ve considered doing that. It looks like there are used PS3s for $150-200 on ebay, but I’d only consider those with a lot of good feedback. Used ones tend to be more expensive on Amazon, but I trust Amazon to correct things if there is a bad seller.

I was lucky in that we have a chain here called cex that buy and sell the hardware, so a lot of risk was taken out of the decision.

Does anyone make an over-ear chat headset for PS4 that isn’t total shit? The earbud that comes with the controller should be classified as a torture device, I don’t want to buy a full set of stereo of 5.1 cans just for PS4 like I have on X1, and it doesn’t look like there is an easy way to just add a mic to the nice Sennheiser I have anyway… All I want is something comfortable that will let me use my nice 5.1 sound setup as is…

Anyone got any overlooked gems or good bargains I should buy from the PSN store with the 10% off coupon this weekend?

The gold headset is great. Works with PC as well.

Hey, Shadow Warrior is discounted to $6. That’s probably worth my money, right?

I didn’t care for it on PC. But maybe it’s a more fun couch game, so yeah, possibly.

It is one of the best recent shooters out there. It has a lot of style, the characters are likable and the story is odd but interesting. The magic is unique and the swordplay is great fun.

You could probably play this on ps4 if desired. Most of the game i was using melee because the sword is great and you don’t need fast precision aiming (ie a mouse) with a sword.

If i had $6 to buy either shadow warrior, destiny, cod:AW or killzone, i’d buy shadow warrior every time.

This seems like the best place to mention it, but…

Did anyone sign up for the class action lawsuit for the big sony hack?

I got an email about it, as did a bunch of others, and it seems legit.

However, it sounds like it is only $4.50 and maybe a a ps3 game, so i’m not sure i’m even going to bother.

I just submitted mine. Thanks for the reminder. The only tempting free game was Patapon (PSP), but I went with 3 months of PS+ instead, thinking that might get me a little more time to play Wipeout Pure on my Vita.

Extra Ps+ is always nice…

Note that the PS+ option in the claim isn’t extra time. It’s for people who aren’t subscribed already, making it useless for a lot of people here.

I ended up going with Patapon 3, despite it being the worst in the series, because I just wasn’t interested in anything else on the list or already owned it.

Wait, it doesn’t just stack like a normal 3 month subscription code would?

Wut?

It was a nice option for me, since my membership just expired at the beginning of January. Hopefully they’ll give me a code that I can put in at my leisure instead of just activating a 3 month membership at some point.

I’d love to be able to choose when to activate it. During the last 13 months that I had PS+, there aren’t many games that I would have activated the membership for.

I imagine the PS+ code would stack with an existing subscription if you got one, but the terms in the claim form talk about not being able to receive a PS+ code if you’re already a PS+ member. I didn’t test it, because I’d rather get something for sure than press my luck and end up with nothing.

Surprised no one posted about Spotify replacing Music Unlimited
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/01/28/playstation-meet-spotify/

Notice the Vita is missing from the list of supported platforms for Spotify. Posted in the Vita topic about this, but my guess is that Vita owners aren’t using the multimedia functionality enough to justify the port since they also likely have smartphones and tablets. Still, a bummer for folks who want to subscribe to one music service and use it on all their devices.

Isn’t there a web interface?

Vita is hard to program for in this capacity, and has extremely limited memory. I think it’s unfortunate, but then so is removing YouTube.
