Is there a way to set it to default to always invert the Y-axis for games? The 360 had this and I loved it. With the PS4 I couldn’t find it so every time I start a new game, I have to go in and change it.
For what it’s worth, the Xbone appears to have lost this (admittedly tiny, but important to me) feature. I always play inverted and have to update each game.

I don’t think so. Neither the PS4 nor Xbox One has a setting like the 360 does. I booted up my 360 for the first to play the free release of Bioshock Infinite on Games with Gold, and I immediately went into the menu to invert my controls, only to remember that I didn’t have to that because the 360 was awesome in a way that no current gen console is.

Wow, that’s crazy - I figured the Xbox One had it for sure. It’s particularly annoying for games that start you out with a playable intro/tutorial AND don’t let you access the menu until after it’s over.
PS4 FW2.50 has accessibility features. While you can remap the sticks and buttons unfortunately you cannot invert. Seems like a simple update for the next firmware release though.
Nice little feature to have the system software updates install in rest mode. Now there’ll be no wait at all.
(Obligatory monthly wish statement: I want my Bluetooth remote for the PS4.)
I think I’ll be leaving that feature off, as the only time I’m likely to keep it in rest mode is if I have a game suspended and any system update would lose my spot.
I noticed the update has added little ‘bling’ sounds to a variety of notifications or click events that weren’t there before. I have the system key sounds/music turned off, and I’ve cycled them to see if it just forgot the setting somehow, but they persist. Anyone else notice this behaviour?
Yeah I hear the bling too (although I’ve not turned any system sounds off).
On a more positive note, the What’s New tab has actually worked 3 days in a row for me! I think it’s otherwise worked 3 total times since christmas. Amazing.
I suppose i am the only one who bought final fantasy type 0 and have been loving it.
The demo for Final fantasy 15 on the other hand, was only so-so.
PS4 + TLoUR + Bloodborne + $20 giftcard. $399.99 @ Amazon.

Its in my cart, the temptation is overwhelming.
Pretty good bundle. I wish i had this one instead of the godawful Destiny/TLOUR bundle.

Yeah, I can’t complain about the TLoUR + 1-year PSN card bundle I went with last week, but that would have been even better.
I got the Bloodborne bundle. This will be my first console since the SNES. I don’t know how long I’ll keep it. Which current and upcoming PS4 exclusives should I look into? Aside from The Last of Us, Uncharted, first/third person shooters, and racing games.
I plan to grab Salt & Sanctuary since they are going to have an exclusivity period for PS4. I might also buy Little Big Planet for my wife or something.
Are there any exclusive brawlers maybe?
I was thinking today how annoying it is that there’s 1 or 2 games per console that I really want to play. It seems like a waste to buy the console just for that. But then I remembered I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on accessories for driving and flight sims. It’s worth it if the experience is good enough. If I sell this PS4 for $200 in a couple years, that’s totally worth it as long as I get one or two all-time favorites out of it.
MLB The Show 15 (Note: must enjoy baseball)
…
Maybe the upcoming Rock Band 4 or whatever it is that Harmonix is doing? My PS3 was only a slave to the Plastic Instruments for the longest, longest time
…
and…
…
You know, now that this console cycle is based on x86-64 hardware, there might not even be a reason to get either a PS4 or XBone for the moment
I thought about that one. I enjoyed a FIFA game I played recently. But at most we’re talking 3 stars / “liked it” and I’d like to set my threshold higher.
Maybe we’ll hear more at E3.

Really enjoyed MLB The Show (13?) on the PS3. Best baseball controls of any game I played.
Roughly how long will it take to set up the PS4 and Bloodborne the first night? Is there a lot of firmware and patches to download? Just planning out my evening.
There have been a few patches to the PS4. I think those are mandatory. And then it will start downloading the almost 3 Gb Bloodborne patch. One day after launch, that patch took me about 2 hours to download. It should be a lot faster by now since the load on their servers shouldn’t be as bad. The patching process for the console might me a pain though, since it requires restarts and switching your controller on again after each restart.
