Cool! Thanks Delta. I’ll try to check that out tonight after work.
Anyone trying the Sony video? We rented Iron Man 3 last night and the quality was all over the place. It constantly switched between the worst feed and top level HD. It went from crap to great to crap. Ugh. I’m very unhappy with the experience.
Yeah, I’ll stick with my Blu-rays for all critical watching, Netflix for anything that I don’t care about for exactly the reason you gave (quality inconsistency). I don’t expect any streaming experience to be anywhere near the quality that I require for my movie watching for a while yet.
No, but I’ve had good luck with Vudu HDX movies on the occasions that I’ve tried it. I’ve got a few movies on there from Blu-ray purchases, and I’ve gotten a few credits for rentals and they’ve always played very well.
Maybe I’ll try Vudu sometime. We use Netflix all the time without any issues at all (I’m about 50 Mps according to a quick speed test). It seemed like it was a Sony thing, especially since the quality was going from 1 to 4 without any in between.
No issues with Amazon Prime steaming either, so it may just be a Sony server issue.
Does it let you choose to download the HD film instead of stream? It does on the 360 and PS3 - I always pick that option on the 360, for this very reason.
(I often rent films on my 360, so I’m actually quite keen to know the answer to this as I will be picking a PS4 or Xbox One next year)
I don’t remember any option to download at all. There was a speed checker, which I passed with flying colors.
I’ve never had a problem with Netflix HD Streaming - even with my PS3’s wireless connection. I just watched Skyfall in HD through Netflix last weekend and the experience was rock solid through the entire thing, most recently.
I’m really annoyed with my PS4 right now and I’m wondering if I should be returning it for a replacement or not.
Last night I started up Call of Duty Ghosts and it said my save file was corrupt and immediately created a new one. So I lost my progress in the game and have to start from scratch. I wasn’t enjoying it that much anyway, but the idea of starting over from the beginning is not… bearable. And my multiplayer character is gone too.
I went into settings on the PS4. I have always had it on automatically upload and download saves when in standby mode for PS+, and I always leave the PS4 in standby mode when I switch off, so I went looking on my PS+ saves for my Call of Duty files.
Nothing. All it’s got online is Resogun and Hulu Plus. Sigh.
So I wonder if this save game corruption means a bad hard drive? Should I contact Sony or Amazon for a replacement now, or could it have been a random fluke? Maybe I should wait for something like this to happen again first?
I don’t know. This sucks. I’m also disappointed in PS+, for not automatically having backups of all my saves like it’s supposed to.
Pretty sure save corrupts in SP was a CoD bug. Or was that for BF4?

Woo - my wife and family just got this for me as a graduation present! Amazingly the first Target she called had just received a shipment with a couple in it. So question for you experts: any opinion on whether Knack or that Lego superheroes game would be better (non-racing) coop? She wants to game with me but is gamer-lite.

I don’t think Knack has co-op does it? No idea on Legos but watching streams of it on the PS4 makes me want to get that game though.
Knack absolutely has local co-op. I can’t speak to the question though.
Also check out Tiny Brains for local co-op as well. Lego and Tiny Brains both have demos up btw.
Knack has two player same-screen co-op.
I had to play some Dark Souls to get the taste of Knack out of my mouth.
Such terrible design. As soon as I can stomach finishing it to appease my six yr old that shit is getting traded in.

Sweet, I totally didn’t think about grabbing demos. And thanks for all the input.
I hate that you have to play through a whole chapter at a time in Killzone for it to save your progress, but I actually took off work early yesterday so I would have a big enough chunk of time to finish Chapter 2.
On the bright side, once you play through the first parts of a level enough times (because of it not saving your progress) you get pretty good at getting through it fast.
Not only did I get through Chapter 2, I also got through Chapter 3 too. The game is really growing on me too. I love the moral ambiguity of the game. I’m doing fairly despicable things, basically acting as a terrorist, but the game sets up my character’s background in a way that it is believable and his own moral compass is understandably tainted by those experiences.
I’m also really getting into the groove in Resogun now that I started choosing the faster ship with the weaker guns. Killing bosses with this ship is much, much harder, but keeping a combo going against normal ships is easier. I like it.
I really hope the PS4 adds the ability to watch TV while you play games. That’s such a game changer on the Xbox, I really miss it when I’m playing the PS4.

This is probably a personal taste thing. I don’t have time to play any console games anymore but in the past I have never found myself playing a game and thinking “I really wish I were watching TV right now.”
If it comes to the PS4 then great but I hope their priorities lie elsewhere
