The Raven, or, John Cusack Is Edgar Allan Schmo

I saw it tonight at a sneak preview.

It was, in a word, dreadful. Overwritten, stiffly acted, overly complicated, and gleefully sadistic, it was like the intersection of Sherlock Holmes and Saw 4. I won’t point out specific complaints for fear of producing spoilers, but there were a lot of places where the audience was laughing that I suspect were not intended to be comedic.

As for the closing credits sequence that seemingly wandered in from a Bourne movie, the less said, the better.

I am sure there are people here who will enjoy it, I wish them joy of their viewing experience; for me, the best part of the movie was the butter-flavored grease on the popcorn.

Quoth the raven, Previously.

That’s what’s cool about movies music, books etc one person can hate it and the other love it.

Looks nice, haven’t seen the movie yet.
