I think Kl3m was too attached to rob once he was calling for a new way of doing things, throwing cards down the line, etc. But yeah, the safest play would have been to bail on poor rob early on as he got nailed with the cards he had to hand out. Mind you, not as bad as I did last game as Oberon! But still, not good…

For me, what convinced me hard and early was the result of the first team vote. Before it I suspected Rob because of the fact he didn’t use OC to confirm his own identity. After the vote, when the people who had gotten the powerful cards also were pretty much the only ones to approve the team in the face of so many questioning rob’s decision, I had pretty much no doubt about Kl3m and serious doubts about Christien.
So my advice to evil in that situation, when one of them seems so suspicious, is to play along with the suspicion. Vote down his team, especially if you have just gotten cards from the suspect.
I had one moment of joy in the game. Awaiting fire to tell me clyve’s allegiance and bracing myself to call him EVIL and try to blow everything up.
Then fire tells me he’s EVIL and I was all like my head exploded at the idea of it. It couldn’t be turned into anything useful but it was cool moment.
I definitely think Good gets a huge advantage with the plot cards in Avalon. (Maybe too big?)
We were doomed regardless. We might have had a Puncher’s Chance if x-tien had been in the Top 4/5. Without even that we were completely screwed from GO.

We do have an example of how that could play out with the last game. I as Morgana threw Lantz, aka the Assassin, to the wolves. Managed to get evil on every team that way. I had Rowe played and convinced I was good for a while (I incorrectly thought he was Percival though). Until round 4 I could easily have played myself as good. Easily could have gone for evil but for some unfortunate events.
But it can be a strong play, especially if you are Morgana.

I think it cuts both ways. I still hold that Evil should have won the last game. In any format there is just the chance that the random things line up and go all one team’s way and momentum takes over.

I’m sure I would have done what you did. I only see the alternative having seen how it worked out.
I might suggest holding the distro of Plot Cards until after Quest 1.
There is enough information in the roles themselves to sow intrigue. The Plot Cards stunt the evolution of the roles. Plus, as more experienced players have noted, the balance shifts more and more to GOOD as cards become available. EVIL needs a chance to breathe a little.
Again, I’m biased. I’m always and forever EVIL.
Yes, thanks to fire for a great game!

Man, that’s a really brutal lineup there. One of the hardest issues for Good is getting an early all good team to pass because the left out goods are inclined to vote against it. In this case the in-the-dark knights going 2-5 is almost best case for Good.

I kind of like this idea - it would also throw a little randomness into which cards are used as 3 will always be out of the game.
@rowe33
So, I didn’t have enough conviction to force it fully on my fellow EVIL, but did you regret your “list” after I hammered for 24 hours straight? :)

If I had actually known Christien was Evil at that point (I totally didn’t) then I definitely wouldn’t have said anything. I was just trying to throw a little doubt on you guys as to what I knew or didn’t know as it seemed we had it pretty much wrapped up. Your hammering was evilly annoying - you really need to play Good for once to see how it feels! lol
I was also very aware that Evil can forget the rules about which roles Merlin knows so I was worried some of you might think I could see Mordred but not Oberon!
