Also, rowe33 you said that you would like to be a spy sometime to know what is happening. I think it’s so much more frustrating to be a spy and trying to work out both how to seem like a resistance member and guess what your teammates are going to do.

I found playing the spy a lot of fun! It was simple to keep ahead, because you knew who everyone was. Resistance side was a headache.

My favorite bit of Kl3m’s secret message is that I didn’t notice it until it came time to vote, and suddenly I was like OMG what if Kl3m sent a secret message telling me what to do, and then I looked for it, and FOUND IT.

I was so excited that I phoned my wife and told her about it.

I don’t think I would have seen it except I was 100% gung ho about both of you being Spies at that point! I recanted in public on Klem later on because I thought trigger had some sort of feint going on with his mission 4 team but always knew he was a dirty dirty Spy! (or at least as much as you CAN know that on the Resistance side, short of seeing their card yourself.)

Also gives me a chance to write up the rules and playtest the game at home. And gives folks here a chance to take a couple of days off, and to sign up. Does it need its own thread?

Definitely a new thread - it was hard to find clues sometimes because of the sheer length of this beast! I am definitely in and looking forward to (possibly) being a bad guy for once! We have a few people on the list that didn’t make last game too, right?

Agreed, new thread is preferred.

I’ve heard good things about Avalon – if I’m not mistaken, there are some additional roles that balance the game a bit more and make for some more exciting plays. Don’t know much beyond that!

So, if I don’t blow the card distro to Lantz instead of rowe33 then I avoid all suspicion? Sooooo close!

This was my first time playing and I had not read through the previous game. I thought the card I had to give out was more powerful than it was. In retrospect it would have been absolutely worth whatever power it gave rowe33 to have completed the gamble of giving Thongsy the “Look at Me” card…and then him NOT looking at me!

I thought at the end that triggercut might yet outsmart himself (and the rest of you) but he pulled it back together.

What is it about the algorithm that favors your name?!

Seriously, though, here’s how I assign roles:

First, I randomize player order.
– For each player, generate a random number from 1 to 100, and sort by random number.
– Re-generate random number, and re-sort. Repeat for a total of 7 shuffles.

Then, I randomize roles.
– For each role, generate a random number from 1 to 100, and sort by random number.
– Re-generate random number, and re-sort. Repeat for a total of 7 shuffles.

Then, I copy the sorted roles, and paste them against the sorted players.

I swear there’s no ill doing here!
