Yeah, it’s really badly worded and confusing in the rules. Had that come up the first time we tried incorporating all the roles at a tabletop session a while back.

I’ll rephrase my thing from above to help make it hopefully clearer!
This is what each role below will get via PM:
GOOD (6 total):
Merlin - the three Evil players except for Mordred
Percival - the players holding the Merlin and Morgana cards but not which is which
Generic Good Guy x4 - you get squat, just the knowledge that you’re a Good person (which is enough reward)
EVIL (4 total):
Assassin - the two other Evil players except for Oberon
Morgana - the two other Evil players except for Oberon
Mordred - the two other Evil players except for Oberon
Oberon - you get squat, you’re pretty much on your own. You can try and worm your way into Good missions though!
So Merlin knows who Oberon is but the other Evil players don’t. Will make for some fun as Oberon tries to get on missions while Merlin votes against him and the other Evil players try to figure out who he is via voting patterns, etc.
So I should take a crash course on calculus and logic then.

I am so excited for this. I suggest eigenvalues if you’re going to brush up.
I think I’ll just invest in tinfoil, to be honest.

It’ll be easier once you have 20 or 30 games under your belt, no worries. And maybe slightly easier once you have your role - the number of possibilities right now are endless! Or at least like 1 out of 7…
If the game doesn’t start today, I’m going to poop on the thread.
Hey, can we also play with this character I just made up?
Pula: She appears to Merlin as Morgana and vice versa, and to Mordred as Oberon. At the end of the game, if the Assassin correctly identifies Merlin, then Pula may switch her role with any player except for Percival. She starts the game on the side of Good but if she is ever a member of a failed mission where she voted Success, she becomes Neutral, and wins the game only if Percival and Oberon voted for the last mission to Fail. She appears to herself to be either Arthur or Galadriel, but she does not know which.

Pula would require that we use the optional Sword in the Stone rules but obviously that wouldn’t make sense because we’re starting the game in January, Two and a Half Men somehow still exists, and the Browns didn’t make the Super Bowl. I like your eagerness though!

Okay guys, hold on to your hats. We’ve got two new Avalon threads coming in just a bit. I’ll post links here, and you’ll see them bubble up to the top in the Games thread.
My body is ready. And my 33 gallon bags of tinfoil hats.

Is that for redundancy, or sharing?

I’ve got my gin and tonic ready, to help ensure I’m in the proper state of mind to detangle the madness!

Only an assassin would drink gin & tonic.

Would I do better to go out and get some mead? I mean it’d be such a sacrifice, but I’d be willing ;)

Can’t believe I missed this! Aarrgsg tears out hair dramatically
If you and I can find 8 more, one game hasn’t been filled. Otherwise, I echo your teeth-gnashing.
