That’s where I’m at with it.

Yup, looks like my stuff :)

Not the first time Miley has been naive about the political side of his job.

Long-term plan now is to secure all the hunny.

Oh, bother.

In some ways, yes, though the Chinese seem better at thinking long-term than at actually coming up with successful long-term policies. Which, I guess, is still better than we tend to do.

I don’t think China’s current leader is as gifted as the previous ones in this regard.

Ukraine already on the other side of the Dnipro according to claims reported as coming from official UAF spox.

I dunno; if accurate, that looks like a very bold move from the map.

Yeah. While there’s a good chance the Russians aren’t in a position to launch much of a counter-assault, it doesn’t really look as though that peninsula would provide much of a valuable beachhead. Too easy to defend the route out, too difficult to supply.

I would guess at a commando raid after a high value target, but you’d expect they’d use artillery for that given the location.

I guess we’ll know more in time.

Cleaning the orcs out of that peninsula opens up the seaway into Kherson. It also lessens the threat of artillery fire.

Plus, I hear the beaches are nice. Well, maybe not in November, come to think of it.

True slav can enjoy beach in november, be sure.

Not really. You still have to go up river with the Russians still controlling one side. And as long as Russians are in artillery range, you can’t send ships upriver to Kherson, even if they don’t control the river bank.

This is a nice anecdote. Like singing La Marseillaise in Rick’s.

74k kilometers liberated this year. I don’t see much appetite for Ukrainians to negotiate right now, not when when they still have their homes and their friends and their families in occupied territory.

Here’s to hoping for a miserable and deadly winter to the occupying forces.

I see no reason why Ukrainian offensives won’t continue in the east as it turns into Winter - as long as they are well supplied (and Russian forces are in chaos) they will press them. Stopping the offensive only helps Russia.

It surprises me a bit when people talk about how harsh the winter is. I know it would be harsh for me, but it seems like Ukrainians and Russians would be more familiar.

We’ll see, it’s going to be below 20 in a week.

Familiarity doesn’t help if you lack winter gear. And regardless if familiarity, it imposes certain things. Like the mud season, they may be familiar with it but it still means the mud is there to contend with.
