I don’t think that’s a fair description either. I think what we have is two sides with irreconcilable differences, as amply demonstrated by lots of posts over plenty of time with nobody shifting views. So at this point all parties involved are just wasting their time, but if they want to engage in futility then I suppose they can. Even if it irritates those of us trying to follow the thread for news and analysis and good discussion.

I expect they’ll be breaking what’s left out of storage any day.
I’ve done it. I claim that Russia will soon have 1.28 million conscripts at the front, providing them a pi-to-one advantage along key points of the line. Their winter gear will be supplied by 2.9 million volunteers from Ross Dress For Less and will consist of 10.97 million coats and 1.62 billion slippers.
Please redirect all counterarguments to me, everyone. Thank you.
You of all people know that sending in a crew of summoned thugs with only boots and armor is not enough, at least they should have a basic shield and 1h weapon, and maybe a ring to protect from the cold. (/Dom)

Well, for my part, I was discussing this topic in the thread for this topic and its been going back and fort for a while, I notice people wanting to ignore me, and call me out for trolling and whatnot when I have tried to present evidence for my cause.
In fact, I’ve been subject to name-calling and just as much unsubstantiated claims here, and from my perspective just juvenile behavior from people whose age isn’t 19…
Its obvious people don’t like their views contradicted, and the torches come out quick, and people brag about putting me on their ignore list, like that, is some medal to pin on your chest.
What a stressful experience in many ways, sheez.
You’ve tried a very little bit but your best evidence has been a guy estimating (in a very very imprecise way) a number mobilized substantially less than half what you claimed so its hard to understand where you are really getting your ideas.
Most of your argument has been pointing at sources that explicitly do not agree with your claims. Also you ignore counter evidence which comes from expert analysts. So its challenging to discuss these things with you.
I’m afraid that your calculations have now been superseded by my own, as I predict well over a million conscripts, outfitted with almost ten thousand pairs of winter slippers each, will soon arrive at the Russian front along key lines, granting them a pi-to-one advantage. You probably did not see this above so I am repeating myself again so that you can take note. If you would like to again be the center of attention, you will need to predict even more troops and slippers, or perhaps you might upgrade the slippers to bathrobe-towel pairs. Until then, please allow me to pursue the argument.
Russia absolutely does not have the strategic terrycloth reserves to achieve this! Bonkers!
Most of your assertions haven’t been backed up by very much evidence, and the YouTube videos you reference often don’t actually back up the very definitive statements you’re fond of making. To be honest It’s frustrating reading many of your posts, because you don’t do much in the way of constructing arguments. You just assert stuff.
For example:
Even though it’s been predicted (here and elsewhere) for a couple of months, that Russia’s position in Kherson was logistically unsustainable. And even though those predictions have come true. You still seem to be asserting that Russia can’t possibly have logistical problems, because “DOORSTEP!” You seem to be simply ignoring the very visible facts on the ground.
Yes, this unfortunately is a common syndrome here. Post an unpopular viewpoint and you’re nearly guaranteed to be called a troll (pre-2018) or a sealion (post-2018).

It bugs me when people call you a troll because I don’t think you’re trolling at all. I don’t agree with a lot of what you say but I’m confident you’re sincere in holding the opinions you do and you’re not trying to antagonize people.
Regarding having my views contradicted, I’m very interested in how things look from the Russian side. I’ve found it interesting to check in on Rybar Telegram channel (well, the English translation of it, since I can’t read Russian) during the war for that reason. As others have already mentioned, it’s not your views or opinions that I’ve found frustrating. It’s when you assert things without backing it up with any rationale that it gets difficult. Or when you claim a source agrees with your assertion and I spend 10 or 20 minutes watching the YouTube video only to discover that the video doesn’t claim what you implied it did. It makes it difficult to have a constructive conversation.

Calling him a troll could be considered a compliment, because the alternative is that he actually believes all the nonsense he’s been spewing (and that y’all for some reason simply can’t stop responding to).
I agree with Zylon.
Fool me twice and all that. Just like with COVID deniers, I usually make a good faith attempt but when their bare assertions are backed with other bare assertions or worse, you have got to learn to move on.

Whoa those Bakhmut pix… Paschendaele indeed. Horrifying. Let’s hope the orcs don’t start passing gas to break the stalemate.

Well, I think the name-calling and whatnot are just juvenile and make you look bad.
Some of you keep restating your claims that it is night on impossible for Russia to do anything, crippling logistical shorts and what have you.
Here is what the status is now at least. Yeah sure, difficulties, but crippled, far from it.
Doesn’t the 50k round-a-day shelling tell you guys anything?
Clearly getting more men will increase that, but I think they will be fine, and they DO need to rotate out their troops, some of those fuckers have been on the front since start of the war…
Now, clearly I want to reinstate, I want Ukraine to win, but I’m troubled by what I’m looking at, and despite their successes, reversals in war can come fast…and heavy, and then what.
You should look what the real tankies say, they revel in the dying of Ukranians , and if I met one of those in town, I’d break their noses collectively.
Here, look at that nose …
Fat for the taking.
(Disclaimer, I haven’t watched that one, I just get too angry.)

It’s fucking miserable doing this.
Source- me on very wet exercises having to do this exact thing, with 3 hrs of sleep a day (and not at all once either, we’re talking snatching 1 hr here and there) for 5 days and 4 nights.
And then doing the same again for 6 nights and 7 days in -10 degree weather.
That was…painful.
