Jaysus, the Gay Jewish Nazi Trans victory parade would be lit.

Well, there’s a forced draft in Russia right now vs a volunteer army so the difference is understandable.
Why is Russia so heartbreaking?
This is a pretty great series I listened to a while back: I don’t recall finishing it, but it was my go-to for a goodly while when I had my hour-long commute to work.
Point taken (and harrowing story too). I agree that some level of awareness is necessary and desirable, if not always achieved.

Probably the exact same thing more or less. Happens to leaders with that kind of power in an organization for such extended periods of time. Genius Putin should have known this and put in a system to help prevent him from going fully down that road.

Entirely possible he did and then got tired of their “negativity” and got rid of the system.
Somehow I doubt that someone who started their career in the KGB ever valued diversity of opinion.

He was just tired of all the negativity.

I’m not sure, that’s why I put it in quotes. I don’t know to what extent Russian media can turn abject defeat (which is what Ukraine’s war goals represent for Russia) into some kind of victory. And I don’t know to what extent he also has to seem like a “winner” to his supporters in the security apparatus, who I presume are the only ones with any real power (the military clearly doesn’t have much).

Seems like hyperbaric munitions would be especially fatal to those in trenches, as those that are in cover in a trench might be untouchable by MRLS tungsten balls.

Strange that the Russians built a whole slew of thermobaric weapons, while in the US arsenal, fuel-air explosives are very rare.
There’s the TOS-1 for example, a short range MRLS with thermobaric warheads, which has a truly gruesome effect on entrenched troops, people in buildings, and well, everything under its footprint really. Blue stopped doing that shit when they collectively recoiled at napalm girl.

I wonder, I’m not sure how the pressure wave would behave going down into a trench, I guess it’s just as bad, and perhaps the heat gets down there too. Those bombs aren’t precision though, you would set it off quite high and see what happened. What an ugly, unnecessary war this is.

Not to be gruesome, but I believe the vacuum of air is what becomes fatal for them, as this was the design principle for the caves in Afghanistan.

Hmm. I could see that being an issue in a cave, but a trench would replenish instantly, more or less. The effect that gives them the name “daisy cutter” would seem to be more relevant. That said I’m talking out my rear as far as actual knowledge.

The concussion from a thermobaric is generally fatal as I understand it (plus the whole thermal part).
But it was exceptionally fatal in caves and the like. As in the damage area went very deep and far compared to the effects in open air. But the open air effects are pretty bad.

Primary blast injuries are those caused by a blast pressure wave or blast wave14, 15, 16, which emanates from the epicentre of the explosion at a pressure of thousands of pounds per square inch14.
This was my understanding, even if I might have misused the terminology.
Edit: Basically human beings don’t react well to strong blast waves.

I didn’t post that as a correction to you. It was an agreement.
