Russian air base struck again:
The Russians really should enforce the no-smoking prohibitions on their airbases.
That might legit cause a popular coup.

Local Telegram channels in Kremina are reporting looting by Russian troops, which is SOP before a retreat.

They’ve acknowledged shooting down a Ukrainian drone. Three people allegedly killed from falling debris.
Even admitting that this is a Ukrainian attack is pretty big.
I’m still having a hard time getting my head around that story. A drone, ok. Shot down, ok. But somehow the drone is shot down so close to the base, and is large and intact enough after interception, to kill three people on the ground in a building?
Even if absolutely true, it doesn’t say much about their standard procedures, or tactical acumen.

No reason to believe anything the Russians are saying. It might have hit, but without hitting anything especially noteworthy.
Either way, it’s a bad look for the Russian air defence and a bad look for Russia that Ukraine can hit them - not once but twice now - so deeply inside Russia.

Considering Russia already has issues with keeping enough experience pilots around, I’m not sure killing several more is a particularly nothing result. Sure knocking out planes is flashier, but what good are planes without anyone to fly them competently?
I have this image of a small drone hovering right outside the window of a pilot waiting room window. The pilots are just on the other side of the window, staring back at the drone. Upon spotting the drone, the top military commanders at the base know they need to immediately destroy the invading drone before it completes its nefarious mission.
In a move that is perhaps a touch overzealous, command launches a cruise missile to take out the drone. The drone is successfully intercepted and destroyed in a massive explosion. Mission accomplished!
Seems legit. I mean, seriously, it does in this context!
Not sure why are you discussing this. It’s like trying to explain inconsistencies in Warhammer lore.
Anyway, more sad news. Russian MP, who was in Forbes list of the richest government members, died in India during a vacation. Fell from a window. A few days earlier his friend died in the same hotel. Take care of yourself and remember that even money and entertainment may not save you from suicidal depression!
Windows are an example of something that’s done an amazing job and is being recognized more and more! Who knew there were windows in so many high places?
There are many things people once assumed to be safe and fine. Like lead waterworks, paint with heavy metals, smoking. Windows are like that too, nowadays we coming close to realization of how dangerous those contraptions are.
Windows seem only to be particularly dangerous to Russians though. Maybe their version of windows has been deprecated and no longer getting security updates.

We need a Rubber-esque movie called Window.
