Way to cockblock freedom, Fritz.

Hey guys, I know this is very shocking news but it seems that claims of Russian victory in Soledar were premature.

Ukraine might have to use them more like static emplacements but sure, send the M1s.

That’s a nice way to allow the US to “reluctantly” escalate.

“Argh, we didn’t want to provoke Putin by sending M1s, but I guess we’ll HAVE to now…”

But thought they just escaped that pocket! And it was close!

We didn’t want to have to send an entire carrier battle group. Thanks Germany.

If we can’t trust a dude with a YouTube channel who can we trust?!

This is what happens when you use your precision weapons on military targets instead of launching them into cities.

Speaking of which, I haven’t heard too much about civilian infrastructure being hit the past few days. Is it just overshadowed by the fighting in Soledar, have the new air defense systems stopped them, or have the Russians given up that tactic / ran out of missiles for the time being?

the far left ones are called tankies, and no one really likes them, even on the left. The closest we get to a tankie in US politics is Omar or the Green Party (who might be Russian-influenced as well)

There hasn’t been a major missile launch in a few days. Air raid sirens in Kyiv always gets strong Twitter coverage.

Russia is generally doing them on a 7-14 day cadence of late, so they can try to overwhelm defenses. Probably because of a combination of low missile stocks and planning time.

Per CNN livetracker, the AFU is holding out in Soledar and has been able to push back via counterattack.

He showed on the map, it was a pocket to the right of Solidar…I don’t think he was wrong, but I wonder where he gets his info from.
About 100 Ukrainian troops got captured or so…

As for left-wing tankies, being very left-wing myself, I have and still harbor a great skepticism against Nato, and believe the US has been heavy-handed in its policies and wars.
However, that doesn’t make Russia my friend, and this is where a lot of tankies struggle, for some reason they think the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and that fallacy is causing some havoc.

I think Germany should sent tanks, howver I don’t think even Leos or M1’s would be much of a game changer, I think the Bradleys are way better and MOAAAAR artillery.

That is just beyond stupid. Ukraine doesn’t have enough fuel to run a bunch of M1’s with their gas turbine engines. Seriously, what is wrong with Germany? They have to know that.

Germany is still cautious, but I am not sure they are aware of the M1 logistical issues. Hopefully someone can tell them.

What’s wrong is that the German leadership is scared shitless of Russia for some reason (admittedly, their fears are not entirely unjustified, even if vastly overblown), and is beholden to people who are vastly enamored of all the money they can grift from deals with Russia.

I can’t tell if you’re kidding or not LOL.

100 Ukrainian troops were captured according to that video but I haven’t seen that corroborated elsewhere. Do you happen to have sources saying so aside from that? Just curious. I don’t find it implausible or out of the realm of possibility or anything, fighting there is heavy and Ukraine was giving up ground.

Yeah, I see the same thing myself quite a bit. In the US, I also see it on the Trumper end of the spectrum. Democrats accused Trump of colluding with Russia, therefore Russia must be the good guy. Especially when Trump got impeached for blackmailing Ukraine, that definitely made Ukraine and Zelensky the enemy, ergo Russia is their friend.

Personality cults are weird.

At the same time - lot of footage of Russians in the western extremes of the town - maybe Ukraine will pull it out, but seems likely they will retreat (lest they get overrun).

So bad news is that Russia beat them - good news is that their ambitions are so reduced in scope, they can only have an effective offensive at a single urban area at a time… while Ukraine is trying to take over huge swaths of land.

Dude. Randos on a gaming website know about the M1 logistical issues. We can be sure that Germany is well aware of them.
