Would it be better if I changed it from “helping launch that invasion” to “supporting that invasion”? It’s not like he was one of the anti-war Republicans who were so common at the time.
I want George W. Bush! We need unwavering leadership. America is under attack from almost every direction. We have been attacked by murderous, crazed terrorists, even in this great city.
…
We step forward by never forgetting that America is a force for good in the world, fighting for freedom and human rights. On this, there is no question George W.
Bush is right and the Blame America First Crowd is wrong!
It was the right decision to go into Iraq. I supported it at the time; I support it now.
If I had made those statements I would feel guilt stricken and would want to apologize for my stupidity.
Yes. They were all played a role in causing an enormous disaster. If we were a serious country everyone who voted for the war would have been chucked out of office.
We’re used to taking what politicians say with a boulder-sized grain of salt.
Very different to estimates from elsewhere:
Depending on the real percentage that Ukraine can shoot down, that could be a lot of hits or not a lot of hits.
1250 missiles/ 273 day= 5 missiles per day, or more likely 35 missiles in once a week strike. That’s a fraction of the tonnage dropped daily turning WW2 or Vietnam, and I suspect smaller than the Syrian rebels have endured the last 11 years.

Yeah, sounds more like they are coughing out daily production rather than employing a reserved magazine of weapons.

Sadly, at one point Erdogan and his party were supposed to be democracy winning out in Turkey. We’d tolerated military takeovers there and in Greece during the Cold War.

What is American Exceptionalism other than Manifest Destiny with a new paint job?
I continue to be in awe of the Ukrainian social media team.
Very funny.
Apparently a couple of hours in War Thunder doesn’t actually qualify you to be a tank driver?

I knew it! You are a tankie! ;)
What do you know, the information campaign against Strelkov (maiden surname Girkin) finally started. Some Wagner officer invited him but then Prigozhin (owner of Wagner) called him useless coward. Now other Russian officials - including those who don’t like Prigozhin - speak about Strelkov as if he’s coward and useless. I’ll remind you that while Strelkov is Not a Good Man he volunteered to fight in Bosnia and Chechnya and seems to be instrumental in Donbas operation in 2014.
Maybe it’s a good sign for him. Many people like him who become disillusioned suddenly die and get a street named after them without any smear campaign.

This is how you avoid counter battery fire - Ukrainians pack up a US 155mm gun in 80 seconds:
And I learned something too. I always wondered why US towed artillery had these flanges/rings on the end of the gun barrels. Well, that’s because that’s where they hitch it up to the truck to tow it!

The above video came from this thread, which is an interesting look at the Ukrainian use of towed artillery and how they have adapted to various threats:
the keyboard is mightier than the armor piercing high explosive ;)
