Thanks for posting that. There’s a whole lot there.

I doubt it had much real impact on anything important. That article mentions it disrupting comms between a plane and Incirlik, but the Telegraph article doesn’t state that at all.

It’s just the fact they even tried to do that which makes me angry.

Not coincidentally

Biden is expressing concerns to Ukraine that further aid may be harder to come by, with the Republicans controlling the House.

These two paragraphs, back to back, are so contradictory it’s really quite frustrating. I mean, I get that it’s describing the situation as it is, but it’s counterproductive (EDIT: to clarify, I’m not frustrated with Biden’s statements, just the situation).

“You need to win quickly. However, due to fear of escalation, we are going to withhold weapon systems that would allow you to win quickly. But seriously, you need to step it up, time is running out.”

Perhaps we need Ollie North to handle future black market weapons transfers if the Russian-loving GOP balks?

Regarding the upcoming Ukrainian offensive from the CNN livetracker (which is very annoying to link to so I’ll quote it here):

Can we please make Russia pay for what it’s doing to non-combatants? This makes me so furious - hitting an apartment building filled with innocent people.

This was a month a go, and yes it is horrible :(

Great read, Grif.

Those HIMARS have become the hero platform of late.

Yeah, even if we don’t get firework videos of ammo depots going up anymore, it sounds like they’re still having a major impact and may be a large part of the reason the Russian offensive has stalled thus far.

I’m glad the Russians haven’t been able to address their logistics issues. Even if they do breakthrough somewhere, good luck exploiting it.

I honestly don’t think they will, but that’s also me being optimistic. You have a churn of forces around a war and this is far enough in the game that leadership who can turn things around have a larger and larger problem. Solving logistics issues when you’ve lost a lot of the capability and in some cases manpower willing to take on that part, means they have a very tough road to change course.

I don’t know what that means for the longevity of the war though. How many fingers does Russia need to get shot off before they worry about writing their signature?

Apparently there was a very important defection from Russia recently. Rounding up of “bargaining chips” seems to be almost a certainly.

Do Dutch F-35s have wooden landing gear?

I wonder how many they are managing to produce now. They restarted production a few years ago, and it was at a rate of maybe 2 a year at the time.

Bradley’s look like they are in Europe and headed to Ukraine, plus a lot more vehicles in that port. Wonder who gets to paint over the sand camo. 60 Bradley’s and over 200 other vehicles.
