He doesn’t have to. For a start, the Tories have a whopping majority, and anyway I wouldn’t expect more than a handful of opposition MPs to oppose sanctions. But more importantly the relevant legislation is already in place. I think they can just do this off their own bat without further involvement from parliament.

There will be no problem with approval. This is not really a partisan issue (especially now its emerged he was pressing for blocking Russia out of SWIFT)
It does make the Cadwalldr groupies going on about Russian donations to the tory party look very stupid though.
Yeah, Putin’s claiming the need to “de-nazify” Ukraine must be a clear indicator of the goals here. Complete regime change. Presumably with enough of a permanent Russian presence to keep that regime in power. And I’m expecting complete loss of the Donbass provinces to the “peoples’ republics”.
