I mean, I think stalemate means Russia and Ukraine head to the negotiation table with a lot of leverage on Ukraine’s side. Especially if things get drawn out.
Honestly, Putin might just pull troops, sign some sort of peace deal and say they accomplished what they wanted.
He is never not lying to his people, so I don’t see why this also wouldn’t stick.

Having praised the bravery of Ukrainian troops, Zelensky switches to Russian and issues a direct appeal to Vladimir Putin, calling on him to enter negotiations with his government.
“I would like to address the president of the Russian Federation once again,” Zelensky says.
“Fighting is ongoing across all of Ukraine’s territory. Let’s sit down at the negotiating table to stop the killing of people.”

Zelensky knows things going downhill for Ukraine and will get much worse soon. He will be a martyr b/c I bet he knows he’s a dead man walking. Negoitated peace is only survival chance and maybe exile but very small.
Russia is that they will have talk terms after Ukraine govt gone and army lays down weapons.
It’s from an ongoing press conference and I’ve seen several people mention it on twitter. However, a trustworthy politician from the same party as the finance minister just said that the statement was much too vague to infer that Germany has indeed moved on the issue.

You jest, but this is an important sign. Earlier today Germans were against SWIFT action and Eurovision saw no reason to block Russia from participating. I guess everybody expected this invasion to be swift and now that Russia is bogged down more and more people see a reason to act.

Not as big a deal as Eurovision but another sign the coalition is strengthening.

It has not been answered, but I ask again, maybe I am naive. But why not have a new “cold” war era, Iron Curtain. Cut out Russia and its allies from the west. Increase military strength in all NATO countries and sit it out … would this be too harsh?
FYI, that wasn’t a russian tank, it was a Ukranian anti-air truck that lost it’s squad and was running around scared. He swerved because he was distracted, as there’s another video at anotherr angle showing another Ukranian (I think) truck that got stopped by russina forces, and russians were surrounding an injured ukranian soldier trying to shoot him.
This truck driver noticed that and saw the car too late. You can see from various angles in other videos he was running around scared before and after this.
Because the gas and oil will cost a little bit more.
