Thanks for clarfying, I’ll delete that.
Any news on “cyber” (oy I hate that word) attacks? Some of the talking heads (including one of my state representatives) I’ve been listening to seem to think there are a bunch of options on the table, and while we might not put soldiers on the ground, we can really fuck them up from a distance.
This guy just said as much on NPR:
At least we have this!

One question asked just now at the NATO press conference is if cyberattacks will be considered an act that triggers article 5. The answer was a pretty definitive yes, though with a caveat that it’s up to NATO when to declare activation of article 5.
Yes, I too don’t believe in it being about minimizing civilian losses.
I am convinced the plan was to bomb the country with all they could, attack from every side, accept unconditional surrender of Ukrainian army. Now they’re concentrating on Kiev.in case it’s not clear from the map it’s just 100 km from Belarusian border, and they are still not there.

Stoltenberg was just asked about the idea that Kyiv could fall in days. He didn’t answer directly and praised the Ukrainian forces but I sensed a little amazement that it had not fallen yet.
As Alex mentioned above, Kyiv is relative close to the border. Something missing in a lot of news coverage which makes it seem like the whole country has been overrun and the capital surrounded.

No need to delete. The headline is essentially true, though it was just more of a tacit admission than outright announcement.
Not troops, but I think Ukraine struck sites inside Russia with missiles in the last 24 hours. At least I saw reports to that effect this morning.

Nato supplying lethal aid to Ukraine via Poland. Things spiraling.

As the Sec. Gen. of NATO pointed out it’s not so much spiraling as it is a continuation of the status quo. Arms were being sent to Ukraine from European nations before the invasion. It’s not like they would stop now.
Finland may want to consider sending a few planes up sooner than later

NATO deploying Rapid Response Force to the eastern members.
Chill. NATO countries have been sending stingers and javelins to Ukraine for months. Those are pretty lethal.

I hope they’ve put them to good use.

I’m seeing reporting now Russian forces shelled and destroyed Kyiv’s power plant.

Looks like heating plant - not power. Power is still up according to live feeds I follow.
So they’re trying the “Russian winter” technique?

This is the report I saw, not sure if verified.

Any armchair generals want to explain why Russia would destroy non-military infrastructure that they’d just have to re-build should they take over?

Also since likely translated the “the” was probably an addition and the original statement didn’t have the implication that “the” thermal power plant is the only one.
