Your fears and posts are based off ignorance. Kiev has the misfortune of being a short drive from the border with Belarus - a few hours. Russian troops have just entered the outskirts of the city.
Kiev is defended by over a dozen active duty army batallions, plus reserves, not to mention other units from the Air Force, special commands, etc.
There is hot active fighting across Ukraine’s east and north - and in cities in the south.
Casualties are in the thousands in only two days of fighting, with hundreds of vehicles destroyed.
This is all over the media - or - if you like - independent Twitter military analyst feeds. Ignorance is curable, but not by wild speculation based off day dreams.

Meanwhile In The real world, the Ukrainian president is warning that Russian units may attempt to seize the city tonight.
I’m skeptical as the encirclement seems days away from completing, only one of the two streams of troops has made it to Kyiv (west), and I see reports that the eastern units are stopped - some because of fuel issues.
But if Putin wants a quick war then taking out the capitol and hoping units surrender elsewhere is the only way to “win”. I don’t see it working, and even if Kyiv falls I assume other units will fight on… but I can see the logic.
Wonder if the Russians are thinking of emulating the Thunder Runs the US Army did in Baghdad?
