People have been saying this for a while, but Russias military is just not that good. It is fairly unprofessional, full of cronyism and corrupt officials etc.

They have a great special forces and secret police, but the military itself… Not so much.

The ironic thing about that reputation is that Illinois is only actually 20th in violent crime, and barely above the national average. And even if you limit it to the city alone there are still half a dozen states with higher crime rates anyhow.

Alaska, New Mexico, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Louisiana are the top 5 highest state rates out there.

(Unsurprisingly Texas has a rate about 5% higher than Illinois as well, Alaska is more than double!)
