Was the itow any lighter? What a pain in the ass to move that around. Guess that is why they liked sticking them on jeeps and bradleys.
I don’t know the ITOW? Sorry!

That’s the TOW made by Apple, right?

I guess the improved tow goes all the way back to 1978, so most likely that is the tow you know :)

If you have an environment with these much more portable missiles, how viable are the AFVs that don’t have some kind of automatic point defence?
Ah, yeah, the optical sight got a bit smaller, ditto the guidance set box. But they added a detachable night vision sight, basically a second optical sight the same size as the first that didn’t replace the first but actually mounted on top of it (!) which was insane, really, since now you had to carry both.
We had APC mounted launchers in the 2AD, and Jeep-mounted launchers in the 25ID (Light). Hummer versions were just coming along when I ETSed out.
I think that MLAW (NLAW?) is the absolute bomb, especially in an urban or dense cover environment. Low missile launch signature plus portability plus fire-and-forget? I do not want to be in an armored vehicle, or any vehicle, in that operating environment. Just my humble opinion, though.
Looks like the big one is happening tonight.
I think that might be anti-aircraft fire detonations. Can’t tell for sure.

Yeah, it was really hard for me to tell so I didn’t post it, and because it seems even crazier than the jumps they’ve already tried.
Paradropping in a city, just to the rearguard of the front lines that are supposed to be prepared does seem indeed crazy.
Anti-air detonations seems likelier indeed?
I think, as the defenders, you’d welcome this sort of attack.
The TOW requires the shooter to crouch in that position like a sitting duck while the missile is en route. Meanwhile, the enemy will light that gunner up the moment they see the missile.
Our European allies designed their system so the shooter can lay prone, at least.
As the putative shooter, I endorse this criticism.
You can lie down with the Dragon, plus you don’t have to carry all that other shit with you. But the missile flight guidance approach — rear-mounted retro rockets instead of flight control surfaces — is kind of crazy, especially when you adjust the flight path enough to exhaust the missile fuel on flight corrections and the missile buries itself in the ground.
I just pee peed in Putin’s vodka.
