Did they at least need to find a golden ticket in a candy bar first?
European Commission President just announced removing some Russian banks from SWIFT and sanctioning Russian Central Bank?
I saw it live on Al Jazeera.
Also this.
Even if they did, I’m gonna guess Russian oligarchs can just buy all the candy bars.
This is a thing everywhere my friend. Once you have a certain amount of money (depending on country) and can “invest” it in the target country you get a blanket Visa. Same for the US, Japan, etc…

Did I google right and the Dragon only had a range of a KM? That seems crazy short for such a large system.

This is likely going to get a response:
The range of the TOW (the photo I posted) was 3km, and the TOW2 was 3700m. The Dragon range was 1km, but the dragon was more like these modern systems in size.
Confirmation and details on the SWIFT / Central Bank sanctions.

Having a decent idea of what the Abrams can do at those ranges, it doesn’t seem nearly enough. I don’t know what the Russian MBT capability is these days, but I wouldn’t want one looking at me for more than a couple of seconds before I got out of there. You had stones running one of those things.

“Whoever told you that sir, is a goddam liar, democracy or monarchy don’t make no difference. Money talks, merit walks…”
Oh, I’m perfectly aware of the situation in the US. Foolishly, I thought the EU would be better.
Well, they didn’t give me a choice, and I never had to do it with anyone actually shooting at me!
We had deployment doctrine and tactics designed to try to offset those limitations and dangers. None of us thought we had much life expectancy. The missile flight time at 3km was 16 seconds, and a modern MBT of that era would probably get off at least half a dozen shots in that time.
But even the modern portable anti-tank missile systems are short range. That NLAW is less than 1km.

The effective range of the WWII bazooka was 100 yards.

Sure, but the 1-2 seconds to get out of there rather than 10+, holy cow. Did we ever roll out laser-guided artillery? That would seem to be the perfect hit-and-get option when you don’t have a tank group handy to go toe-to-toe. One guy with a radio and a laser, send it.
I would say: next time you set up your country, maybe move the capital farther away from Russia.
Hellfire missiles. One guy on the ground to paint the target with a laser, and close air support to launch the missile. The problem of course was the need for the aircraft, and the fact that modern optical sights in tanks can easily see the laser operator. So not really like the flexibility of just sending an infantry squad in.

Warsaw is closer to Belarus than Kyiv is I believe.
