Seems like they might be abandoning their narrative about what they are doing in Ukraine? This sounds like they’re no longer pretending that they feel like Ukraine should be, you know, a nation. Unless it’s just a translation thing.

Quite likely the “NUTS!” riposte of this century.

RIP.

Thanks for this, very informative.

Looks like this TB2 footage is from right after the strike on the Buk. Looks like the wreckage at the end is the Buk.

Just look at that whole paralyzed column of targets.

Reasonable take on the status of the fighting - Ukraine is fighting hard and inflicting losses, but Russians are gaining strategically. Hard decisions will need to be made about where/what to defend:

Has anyone seen any word from Turkey with regards to aid? If the west won’t supply drones has Erdogan shown any willingness to supply more TB2’s?

They’ve been flying transports into Poland, and there are 2 Turkish transports still sitting at an airfield next to Kiev from landing there right before the fight started.

When someone tells you who they are, listen. And the Ukrainians have been telling us who they are since the days of Mehmed II, very loudly and full of profanity.

Not true. Personally I have been disappointed in Vindman’s coverage - he’s posted a couple of things like this that were subsequently shown to be false. I’d wait for more confirmation before posting anything as significant as this.

Yes, I agree. Vindman has been posting / retweeting a lot of stuff that looks questionable and turns out to be wrong.

Looks like you were correct and he was exaggerating.

That’s adorable.

How does this work? It appears to be hovering in mid air rather than flying. Are the rockets coming from it or another source? It must be quite high in the air (even though it looks like it’s very close) otherwise the Russians would be trying to shoot it down.

I believe it’s just that the camera is pointed at a target and stabilized in such a way to keep the image still like that. The drone itself would still be flying like you’re imagining.

This is probably a good and accurate take, but I still want to believe based on how little territory the Russians have taken so far and with now something like 2/3 of their amasses forces committed that the Ukrainians could still pull off a miracle.

Uggh, will keep that in mind.

Its the rotating camera. If you pay attention you can see perspective shift and what is going on is the drone is circling the area while the camera is gimbal locked to that location.

It’s actually quite high up in the air and is relatively small and quite slow moving compared to a typical plane. That image is massively zoomed, so you have to consider traversing the sky at the relatively low speed of a drone doesn’t make as much of an impact on the viewing angle as one might think

Yeah, not your fault. I thought he would be a good source given his background and experience, but I think he is letting his natural bias influence him too much.
