Sources list those on the Dale list have seemed pretty reliable so far, and some of them are local so they are reporting on stuff far earlier than US sources. Things are moving so fast by the time CNN or whatever gets wind of it, and verifies it, it can be old news.

Still I don’t believe half of what I’ve seen on twitter. Google image search is your friend for finding old images that are being reposted as if new. Since you can’t really tell Ukrainian and Russian vehicles apart (other than the occasional operation markings the Russian ones seem to have like the big V or Z) any isolated bit of footage claiming to be wreckage of one side’s equipment has to be taken with a lot of salt.

Quick edit: For example, just a few minutes ago CNN reported on the TB2 footage posted upthread. And they are really just re-reporting the Ukrainian Air Force info. Not like they did some other on the ground verification.

The EU is sending Soviet era fighters to Ukraine that are in the current inventories of countries like Poland. This will total about 2 to 3 dozen fighters:

It is my understanding from sources that these fighters will arrive this evening. This is a huge amount of reinforcements for their Air Force.

Twitter rumors are that they will be there within the hour or some have arrived. I mean it’s not like Poland is far as the mig flies.

That’s surprising!

Yep:

Just after the announcement, a verified Senior Advisor EU Parliament tweeted that the planes would be on the air within an hour.
This EU is not the EU that started the week

This brought a smile:

Perhaps, but I wonder how many pilots Ukraine has on hand? It’s not easy replacing experienced pilots as it is airframes.

Someone needs to tap you on the knee and wink at you.

Are you only going to count ones that speak Ukrainian?

This got to me

I saw that 3 mile long column of armor and thought, a dozen A-10s and it’s a very long scrap yard.

Well, when you have two militaries with roughly equivalent levels of training, even if they aren’t exactly world class, and one of them is forced into a war on foreign soil that the troops probably have zero interest in, and the other side is defending their homes and families, it doesn’t take Einstein to figure out which side is going to have the advantage. Numbers will ultimately tell, of course, but this experience so far should have come as no surprise to the Russians. Probably didn’t, to the pros, but apparently Putin listens to people who actually know stuff about as well as Trump did.

Well, isn’t that the thing? Fear your leader enough and you lie so as to not face the consequences?

Someone might want to rethink having the Amber Alert tones be the same as the one for World War III Alert. Just saying. All of Northern California is probably coming down from a panic attack rn.

I don’t see any major news outlets (Reuters, BBC, CNN etc) picking this story up. Might be fake/wrong?

2022: The Year of Fear of FOMO

Reportedly the jets were basically 90% packaged, ‘ready to ship’, nearly delivered. It was just a matter getting all the sign offs and approvals required with arms sales, which is why it seemed so fast. But it was really happening over the last few days.

It’s crazy envisaging how different this would be if the USA were involved. I wonder if the Chinese / Europeans have an equivalent technology lead.
