The guy is really funny.

This man really has balls!

This is a view, perhaps too optimistic, but it makes some interesting points:

One valid point is that the Russians are showing weakness - calling for troops from Belarus and Kazakhstan, and throwing in Chechen’s says that things are not going well. And the point of the first 96 hours being tough for the defense was interesting.

…and then removes a land mine from the road with his bare hands with a lit cigarette between his lips so his troops can by

That was my first thought when there was discussion about Belarus sending soldiers in. Yes, it’s terrible to see the extent to which Belarus is participating in the war, but if Russia needs Belarussian soldiers and equipment to finish the war that is extremely embarrassing.

That’s like being a Great Power in Europa Universalis IV and needing your 3k vassal stack to finish a war against a much smaller neighbour.

Speaking of Zelensky and Hava Nagilah, there’s an article in the Atlantic that I found pretty moving, as a fairly secular Jew.

I really want Zelensky to survive into old age and give many interviews and write an autobiography.

It’s been mentioned before the utter absurdity of calling Ukraine a Nazi regime when it is headed by a Jewish person. And it’s not just a Jew. He’s a Jewish comedian. That’s just one belt below Rabbi.

I would be super careful with that source. He’s wrong right away with the alert level Putin put Russian nuclear groups at on Sunday. And Albert Marko is a shady dude who has tried to pass himself off as an expert on a variety of stuff, including describing himself as an “International affairs buff.” He pushed a bunch of obviously manufactured Hunter Biden dossier stuff regarding China back in 2020.

I would wager that there are a half dozen folks who post in this thread with a better grasp on things, maybe.

The Moscow Exchange opens in a little under three hours.

For me at least their website is down.

Thanks, we need to keep each other aware of flawed sources and be a check for each other.

I have to ask again. Why aren’t these people armed with anti-tank weapons? These long lines of tanks, and those in pairs are sitting ducks.

You have the guys with the javelins deploying along the alternate route the tanks are now forced to take. No need to risk the civilians.

One reason: Ukraine doesn’t have 44 million anti-tank weapons.

Honestly thats probably the only reason. I could 100% see angry grandpa up there firing one of those bad boys.

Someone said that it seems like the Ukraine is a country full of honey badgers, and that ain’t wrong.

USD to RUB 1 week chart. It’s mooning!

I’d be cautious about what you hope for. The fact that civilians can walk out unarmed and stop tanks in their tracks is pretty amazing. Give them a weapon and all of a sudden they become valid targets along with any other innocent civilians. Besides, I’m willing to guess that the average civilian would not be that effective with an RPG anyways.

If you ever wanted to wallpaper your home in rubles, now is the time.

Reminds me of the 1 time I was a millionaire. In 96-97 100000 rubles was $20 I think. I remember needing to get new glasses when I was in Moscow, and having to pull money out of the atm 2 days in a row to get enough to pay for them.

They already are. I’ve seen video of Russians shooting out family cars with children in them.

Yeah, I went to Moscow in the 90’s and it was like playing with Monopoly money.
