Watching CNN and Anderson Cooper is talking to a guy making Molotov cocktails from empty bottles of a popular beer called Putin Dickhead. They guy said his group had made 2,000.
Correction: One of the brewery’s favorite beers is called “Putin khuylo,” a direct insult to Putin, according to AFP, which means ‘Putin is a jerk.’ in Ukrianian, according to Google Translate.

I wonder what this Sunday’s orthodox church sermon might look like? I’d love to read an article on that.

How many people will do this I wonder?

Because we don’t have enough to make us anxious:
Probably caused by something normal, but now is not a great time for it to happen
The churches in Eastern Orthodoxy are largely run on national levels. Suspect we get vastly different sermons.

If I ran a microbrewery I would be working on a beer called ‘Russian Warship Go Fuck Yourself’
Probably a strong pilsner with extra Ukrainian hops, and with extra hop bite

Yeah, I don’t normally. I saw another source for it as well. Just hoping China doesn’t start getting frisky right now as well.
Long thread here, but the basic summation is that Ivan is likely not properly maintaining the tires of its war machines and they are only good on roads at the moment.

As an internet guesser - i wonder if they might use some of their drones to target some airfields just over the Russia border.
Interesting (to me) that a complete war plan was approved on Jan 18th. That definitely explains why the US government, all the way up to Biden, were willing to predict the invasion so confidently. Presumably some signals intelligence or other technical intelligence gathering effort got hold of a copy.
It gets even better!
Now that is an impressive level of tire nerdery.
Maybe the Russian advance is slowed because they bought their tires off Wish.

Here is a non Twitter source for that.. It’s Pravda, do we trust Pravda as a source?
The first row in the spreadsheet looking image says it starts Feb 20 and ends in early March.
I mean, Russians are people, and people generally don’t just murder civilians. Soldiers do what they are told, but the also typically won’t commit warcrimes unless they have to, or have been brainwashed.
It is important not to dehumanize those soldiers who, might likely not want to be there very much, or are completely deluded and have been lied to about the Ukranian army being evil etc. Same shit Putin is doing to the Ukrainian army.
Anyway.
Who stepped in when the US was in Iraq? When Russia was in Syria?
They are going to continue to sell all of the civilian casualties as 'acceptable" losses in war. It is urban warfare, there aren’t going to be 0 casualties of civilians.
We did the exact same shit in Iraq. Just better.
And Vietnam.
Anyway, not calling out anyone specifically, but we have to look at how historically this is the same shit everyone has been pulling.
That’s Ukraine Pravda…they published a full list of every Russian soldier assigned to the invasion yesterday that some hacker got somewhere.
A new schism has emerged among Orthodox believers in Ukraine, after at least two bishops instructed priests to stop recognizing the Patriarch of Moscow in the prayers of the Eucharistic Divine Liturgy.
The Moscow patriarch said Tuesday the bishops’ decision amounts to schism, opening a new fracture among Ukrainian Orthodox believers, who were already divided over their relationship to Patriarch Kirill of Moscow.
Fascinating situation, if anyone is interested in the structures and clashes within Eastern Orthodoxy. Ukrainian Christians are mostly Orthodox of course, but they’re split in which part of the Church they identify with–most identify with an independent national Ukrainian Church, but a good chunk associate with the Patriarchy in Moscow, the head of Russian Orthodoxy. (10% are Byzantine Rite Catholics, who worship in an Orthodox-style liturgy, but are united with Rome.) The status of the independent Ukrainian Church is at the crux of a major dispute between Constantinople and Moscow. Essentially, the Russian Orthodox Church seems to think of the Ukrainian Church the way Putin thinks of all of Ukraine…
War brings out all sorts of interesting details. A tire expert on Twitter noted the the tires on the Russian vehicles are cheap Chinese knockoffs of Western military tires. He’s seen and studied them in the field and says they are crap and are obviously causing problems for Russian supply trucks.
