I really want NATO to declare a no-fly zone over Russia, even if it is stupid.

I’d like this too, but I understand 1) their air power hasn’t been committed much/very well and 2) the Ukrainian air force is still alive and well & they’d be subject to this no-fly too.

I am just flabbergasted by how absolutely awful the Russian military has been. It almost feels like a joke.

It’s perfectly clear from Putin’s statements this week that the invasion of Ukraine has nothing to do with the prior likelihood (or lack of it) that they would actually join NATO.

It’s not so much threadcopping as it is seeing the same arguments advanced every day with no apparent taking of the counter-arguments into account. But maybe that’s a perfectly normal thing.

Some people want to talk and find out what is happening about the war, and the constant demand for no-fly-zones countered by the reasons against no-fly-zones, repeated about every 2 hours, makes that quite hard.
