Didn’t he just fire the military’s Chief of Staff?

The brand war rages on Twitter (context: Coke has said its going to continue doing business in Russia.)

I think that was from a Alex Vindman tweet I put up that was followed by other posters saying that unfortunately Vindman can no longer be considered reliable. I haven’t seen it reported anywhere else.

Time to rewatch One, Two, Three

Pepsi wishes they had kept all those Russian military navy ships now.

I was thinking Putin wanted to make a blitz-like advance to kiev, take out Selenski and the gov and replace it by a puppet president, who will “work together” with mother Russia…

I don’t know if there is a Plan B. I think he will bomb and destroy now, until Selenski falls and then will be master of a destroyed country (or 2 if you count the damage to Russia)

Who woulda thought it.

Originally care of Tom Nichols Twitter feed, but here’s the full article:

They do have that Harrier, at least…

It honestly feels like he’s as self-delusional as Trump, that he thought he could show up with a military force and Ukraine would just roll over on its back and let him take over the government, with the rest of the country falling in line after that. Obviously that didn’t happen, hell if they take Kyiv and establish a government I think the rest of the country will still be hardass partisans despite.

Hopefully this isn’t a duplicate (a search for Samsung on the thread came up empty), but this seems at least somewhat significant given Apple has already cut-off Russian customers. More squeezing of upper-middle class and up Russians.

Tweeter is with NBC News

Seriously coke?

Bah

Only a BTR-80?

He’s probably going to end up feeling a bit of an inferiority complex when all his friends show up at the next Ukrainian Farmers Association BBQ; there he’ll be in his obsolescent little BTR while they’re all driving BMPs, BRDMs and SAM launchers.

I think you are probably being too optimistic (I sure hope not, though), but that ACOUP article really should be mandatory reading. IMO, there is no question that what he writes there is fundamentally accurate and a good prediction of where the conflict is likely to head. I just hope the Ukrainian leadership are also aware of the need to preserve their government (i.e., have a Plan B if Zelensky gets taken out).

Australian Major General Mick Ryan (formerly Commander of the Australian Defence College until he retired this past week) has a big long thread about the siege of Kyiv. Definitely worth a read IMO.

I thought these were of particular note (although again, read the whole thread for anyone at least somewhat interested in the subject):

Gonna be a Ukranian farmer next year plowing his fields with a T-80.
