The last original Russian general from the initial invasion of Ukraine has been removed:
You do Great Purge before the war, not during the war.
Waiting for “those responsible for sacking those responsible for the invasion, have been sacked.”

The majority of the original generals died in the invasion, so still a good outcome for him.

Excellent thread on the impact of Iranian drones in Ukraine:
They are being substituted for PGM, it appears, probably due to shortages.

They are PGM, just of a different sort. Cheap, small and slow. I wonder why a cheap wooden propeller driven vehicle is better than a near mach 1 cruise missile… oh I see, it isn’t.
An answer will be whipped up to these so called suicide drones or kamikaze UAVs. Such stupid terms. Every missile ia a kamikaze drone. A tomahawk, a HARM, heck, even a sidewinder!
What would work? Good old old-fashioned flak. Lots of aimed proximity fused 76mm shells.

Barrage balloons might work well on the drones
It would be hilarious is we ended up with WWI style barrage balloons and Lewis guns all over…

Interesting q&a type blog article from Tom Cooper. He has a calculating, tell it like is style. This article addresses Russian strategy, power strikes, reserves, and air defense needs. I’m curious when the West will, if ever, give Ukraine the heavy armor and other offensive weapons it needs to push the Russians out. He phrases it as a “fight for profit” vs “fight to win” choice of the West.
Meh. For starters, someone should revoke his license to use quotation marks / inverted commas.
I don’t know Cooper. Is he someone who knows what he is talking about? There are quite a few flat declarations in that piece. I’m not at all sure how he can have such certainty about some of those things. And the bit about fight to profit vs fight to win, I’m not even sure what he means by that.

Does any Western nation have this amount of “accidental” deaths of high profile individuals like Russia does?
At this point it is impossible to tell the actual incompetence from the political murders.
Unless he ordered their deaths, I wonder if Putin is having the same problem.

Wow. I’m sure even the best troops have chaotic and panicked retreats like that, but damn. Did he just roll the vehicle at the end or did they get hit with something? I had to watch without sound.

I’m assuming that’s a helmet mounted cam. Looks like the driver took his eyes off the road, no one else seemed fussed… there’s a guy in the front without his helmet on. Always weird to see modern war clips where people are visibly stressed and making mistakes but there is no incoming fire, no one is taking defensive cover. It’s like death comes from over the horizon, no need for small arms.
