Pretty easy to withdraw from a city when you have it surrounded by a fairly large perimeter of sacrificial lambs.

I was saying it would be surprising if they have withdrawn from Kherson, after weeks of apparently reinforcing it. Not that it would be surprising that they had managed to do it.

There have been reports and videos throughout the war of both sides using their helicopters this way.

Yeah, apparently it’s a pre-programmed move where the targeting system decides when to launch based on the desired landing spot. That said, it’s obviously not very accurate despite the automation.

Yeah, Enemy at the Gates seemed to lean a bit too hard on western stereotypes of the Red Army during WWII, but if anything is pretty mild compared to the modern Russian army.

I’m starting to wonder if the war hammer 40K universe is based on real life more than I thought.

Commissars have both the right and duty to immediately execute any Imperial guardsman or officer who shows cowardice or incompetence in battle.

How else would you possibly maintain morale?
