I read the archive version to get past the paywall, but it wasn’t really worth it. An article with not much to say, unfortunately.

Bit of an embarrassing performance by the ESA in the past weeks. Geoff Keighley sitting somewhere laughint today.
Ah, too bad. If I were an events manager, I’d be crying at my desk after that decision.

They really need to move to a less expensive venue. Building a presence at E3 is needlessly expensive, even if you just want a private room off the show floor.
Oof. I was happy to see them getting $$ until I read fortnite.
The Horizon Chases were fun.

This tweet is interesting because
- The comments are all “gamers” in agreement with the post
- The quote tweets are a bunch of game developers expressing their annoyance at such uninformative, yet entitled, “feedback”
Look, if they just tightened up the graphics on level three, these problems wouldn’t happen.
The acquisitions keep going.
As someone who’s played the game since day one almost every damn day, I can say with 100% certainty that it’s the simple stuff that is super irritating in Warzone.
They still don’t have working statistics. With the latest update, they broke all the stat recording so I cannot see stats on any game I’ve played since the update. When they turned off Warzone for Warzone 2.0, you STILL could not see a working scoreboard when the game ended. The names of your team were not yours or your teammates. This is SIMPLE STUFF that they fail at over and over again.
Inevitably, with every update, they break something or introduce new exploits. They’re clearly understaffed for testing. It happens over and over again. In the original Warzone, there was a bug where you could create unlimited Stims that allowed you to just stand in the gas and keep stimming until you won. No one who was playing fairly could find you because they’d die in the gas. This bug reappeared in patches at least ten times after it would get fixed! It was maddening.
Some of that guy’s list is simple preference like bots, and Strongholds/Blacksites. I’m not a fan of that, but they’re in this game and I deal with them. No one will ever be happy with footstep audio ever so that’s really a non-starter.
Developers who go in there annoyed at the feedback are full of shit though because anyone who’s played these games for the last three years knows that there’s a ton of simple things they can’t ever get fixed correctly or don’t even bother to try. Ugh.

Clearly.
This is exactly the kind of thing the developers were making fun of. You seem to think the problem with these “simple things” is detecting them, which apparently any sweat can do whilst playing, and it’s simply that they can’t be bothered to fix. Too busy swimming in their Scrooge McDuck pools of coins, no doubt, to fix their free to play game.

Their corporate masters won’t give them time or money to fix it.
Hahaha, this item on that guy’s list is just priceless.

In reality, this DOES kind of play into it, I think.
I mean, let’s consider it from the dollars and cents perspective here… what happens if they don’t fix those things? Is it going to make less folks play?
Probably not. Same money coming in the door.
The way to get companies to pony up for the cost of fixing things is to demonstrate that not fixing them costs them more than fixing them. That, and no other.
Exactly. Bitching about it, then continuing to play every day, watch hours of streams, and buy CoD-bucks for cosmetics teaches them that the cost of the fixes isn’t worth it.

This is crucial because a lot of people, including @DaveLong here, prefix their laundry list of complaints with “I’ve been playing every day since release”, which the producers see as “This isn’t enough of a problem to stop me playing”. Whereas “I can’t open the ingame store” it CODE RED because that’s what actually makes them money.
A big problem with Free to Play games is you can’t refund them after 2 hours like you can with £60 AAA stinkers.
So you think a malfunctioning scoreboard, in a game where you keep score, is something they should have a hard time fixing?
It’s been THREE YEARS.
WRT quitting the game… three of the group I played with have quit. One only plays Fortnite now. It’s definitely affecting players.
