At some point though, as long as they continue to sell a billion dollars in software every few months when they release a game, they aren’t really gonna care that much.

Why would you keep playing a game for three years if keeping score is important and the scoreboard is broken?
Because third party internet sites were accumulating the stats that Activision couldn’t get right in their own game.
Not to defend these guys as such, but this is actually clear evidence that this is: “Not a problem”. If there is a workaround that people use, 99% of all software developer looking for money is going to ignore that to working on the problems that have actual ROI impact.
There is never a shortage of bugs that could be fixed (and in cases like this, no shortage of new features to add). It’s cynical as hell, sure - but development companies (not necessarily the developers themselves) who are successful at making money will tend to be cynical about these things.
Sure, that’s probably one reason they never cared to fix that.
On the other hand, do you see why it causes players to post long screeds asking for things to be fixed? You’re not making your players happy when you continually ignore simple things.
Eventually, people do walk away. My playtime has definitely decreased significantly over the last few months because they finally wore me down with so many problems that continue to remain in the game patch after patch after patch…
In the meantime, before you and yours quit, how many upgrades did the CEO’s Porsche get?
Because I doubt things have improved overall in the decades since Milo’s outburst.

But I thought Sony is #1? must not be a GaaS game developer.
Aw, that’s too bad. That’s the “Concrete Genie” people. It’s a cool & interesting PS4 exclusive not enough people played. I was looking forward to seeing what they’d make next.
