For Brothers In Arms I used to put a piece of wet toilet paper. Non permanent and easy to remove.

I can’t even find a server running Circle Jerk.
And I can’t get my new machine to recognize my old USB headset. Arg.
Edit: Ouch. that was painful.
Sorry guys! I was stupid and thought it was for 10 PM.
Well, that was decisive if nothing else. Still, a lot of fun to play with the whole Qt3 side (minus a few high profile no shows, ahem).
We’ll get 'em next time!
I enjoyed the first two maps, but as expected, had zero fun on circlejerk. I think some people rage quit after it. I know this makes me sound like a whiny baby pants, but I did not hear anyone on Qt3 agree to stopping Badlands the second round.
The one thing that actually irritates me is that my mic stopped working. This headset is just over a year old.

I was one pushing for moving on from Badwater. I was expecting single matches (like the GWJ matchup) and I really wasn’t on board for playing twelve matches in a row. Keeping it to one iteration on the payload maps and best two out of three on the CP maps seemed appropriate.
That said, I think the suckage pretty much came down to lack of organization/enthusiasm. I enjoy playing TF2, but Fallout 3 has been commanding most of my gaming time, as I’m sure it has for many others. We didn’t practice enough to work as a team.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that. We had fun, we managed to stalemate them on their home turf (circlejerk) for quite a while, and we found out that we deserve the new puppy that’s coming with us to the White House.
I need to find that mp3. That was the best thing I’ve heard on their server in a while.
Edit: America has earned the new puppy
Goddammit, sorry I missed it. My day was hijacked by friends. Sometimes it happens on Saturdays when they don’t have work to do.

Ahh, I just figured you were living up to your name.
Even though we got beat in every round, I think we had a few great moments. The third round on Circlejerk was quite impressive. We came about 1 second away from (moral) victory at one point.
And we all got a new white house puppy, so what’s to be sad about?
I had a lot of fun, even without the winning. We were just unorganized…exactly what you’d expect from a pickup game. Which is essentially what we played. :)
So can we demand a rematch where possibly everyone shows up? Maybe on a Friday instead of Saturday to avoid real life friends?
I’m for it. Friday or any weekday is any easier day than Saturday for me…

Barring real life intrusions, I’m always game.
A new update just came out, with a demoman nerf and some new engy/spy features.

Those changes sound great. People abuse the med call by calling when they’re not hurt; I always hated that. I also always thought we should be able to blow up the sticky bombs, too.

Engy updates are awesome. I’ll be playing this tonight.
That’s some great changes. Especially about the spy, he needed a boost.

It’s not always medic abuse to do that. If I’m playing a heavy or soldier and I come up behind a medic and his pet (and they’re not currently fighting), I’ll usually hit it once just to let the medic know I’m there. If I’m dancing around a medic and he just sits there keeping his pet overhealed to the max, rather than swapping it to keep multiple people overhealed, I’ll sometimes hit it a few times until he tops me up. Yeah, if you’re in the middle of a pitched battle and hammering it when you’re down 12 health (or none), that’s pretty bad behavior, but using it as a heads-up in calmer situations is valid.
I do like all of these changes. I wonder which end of the TP the engy needs to upgrade. I like the idea of Goldrush being less likely to result in an endless swap back and forth on the first stage (I always thought it should be more like Dustbowl, where the first stage is a cakewalk for a half-competent O, stage 2 requires coordination and tactics, and stage 3 requires true superiority to complete). I’m also really curious to see how the sticky clearing is handled.
Does this maybe mean that some people might be playing TF2 Friday? It’s been a barren wasteland since L4D came out.
