They have Red Spy on there twice.

Disappointing.

jk

Well what if they have two red spies in the base?

That alarm’s a spah.

Absolutely.

Fucking.

Golden.

Yes they did and no I’m not being sarcastic. I would like to know what it used to be. My theory is that it was a 3rd “Red Spy”.

Apparently the original video had “Lost Memory” where “Leaked Video” now appears. My source is some random dude in a comments thread somewhere though, so take that with a pinch of salt. Presumably he has an Esper in his garage and too much time on his hands.

I’m impressed the Heavy managed to ran so fast in the video.

Here’s to hoping we get to slide our sappers across the floor
Dead Ringer Spy Watch is going to be OP. Hoooooooly.

Edit haha, as if those blogs weren’t great enough, the Blue Team’s alarm board has “is fired” on it.

I hope that board appears in the game at some point.

With a little announcer speaker that you can only hear while in that room.

And working. Particularly the ‘behind you’ light.

I love a company that can laugh at it self. That’s some funny stuff.

The you’re fired blog entries had me in stitches. I also like on the board it shows Red Pyro, Is A Man, Is A Woman in succession.

Man Valve really knows to refresh a game and give it legs.

Hello! I am new Vice President Stavros Xanthis!

Here’s your Spy update: the Ambassador! Please enjoy!

That… is an awesome unlockable. I can’t wait for the Spy update, now.

Yow. That’s the first TF2 unlockable that’s desirable enough for me to actually consider jumping through all those achievement hoops to get to it. I’m still hoping that they’ll ditch the achievement unlock process in favour of something a little less obnoxious, of course, but if this was the reward for hours of achievement farming, it’d almost be worth it.

That said, the sniper’s unlocks are looking a bit bland in comparison to the spy’s. Still, new stuff is new stuff.

Hoops? I just played the Pyro for 7 or so hours over the course of a few weeks and got all three weapons. I don’t recall deliberately doing anything for an achievement - they just came through normal play.

I dunno, I play the pyro much more than any other class… and I still do not have the final weapon. I even did some achievement farming early on. You really have to stick to a class to get those achievement. I find myself jumping around from class to class too much to get all the stuff for one.

Pyro’s my main, and not surprisingly the only class I have all the unlocks for. Mostly I got them through normal play, plus some lucky ones (like BarBe-QQ, where somebody you’re dominating has to just decide to leave), but I never really farmed them.

I did find myself exploring new play styles to get the achievements though, that probably made me a better pyro. Stuff like torching somebody then retreating and switching to the shotgun, or practicing the projectile reflect timing.

But it really is just a case of putting in the time. I have one or 0 unlocks in other classes, because I just haven’t put the time into them. My “time playing” chart is very very heavily skewed.

I have something like 36 hours pyro and like 12 hours of sniper 8 hours demo, etc. But, I haven’t played nearly as much after they added achievements.

I suppose I should’ve prefaced it by saying that I’m a pretty casual TF2 player, and as someone who doesn’t spend a ton of time playing, getting all of the various unlocks they’ve added often seems like a bit of an unattainable goal. Sure, I could sit down and really go at 'em for a while, but my backlog is huge enough that it’s not very practical or likely. It’s a little frustrating – they’re adding all this interesting content that might spice up the game for me, and draw me away from Far Cry 2 or Fallout 3 or whatever, but I know that I probably won’t be able to actually access it for a good long time, if ever.

I mean, c’mon, what’s wrong with a little instant gratification every now and then?
