Man I’m rusty as a sniper. Kinda hurts since that was my most played class when TF2 first came out. Getting 10 achievements for any class is really easy so I would have had at least one weapon for spy/sniper…but I get a dupe KGB. Sweet!

I hope Valve can fix the bugs and make the drops more balanced soon. Also are the head ornaments actually in the game now?

I keep hearing you can get all the new items by leaving yerself in specttator mode for an hour or so. Maybe longer.

It sounds like it. There have been some confirmed reports of people getting things while in spectator. But apparently the new system is buggy, so I would think that maybe the spectator mode rewards is part of that bugginess. The rate at which drops happen is definitely not working as intended.

Under resolution there is another drop down box for aspect ratio.

I dislike the new weapon system, because it gave me an axetinguisher right before I would’ve earned it on my own.

The randomness of the drops is bit odd. Last night I got 3 items, The jar of pee and 2 of which I already had (Pyro Flare gun and the Kritzkreig). Now I know why they have the delete function in the briefcase. My play session was around 2.5 hours and there was one hat drop last night on the server while I played.

Having someone toss the jar at the cart surrounded by players, then running in with my pyro is mini-crit spamming awesome.

If you do play on the POE servers, couple of warnings, be ready for tons of mic spam, sprays my be pornographic, currently golden shower jokes galore and don’t take things personally. The playground mentality rules are in effect there and I for one, love that. Plus there are some really good players who play there.

I also love reading night…good times.

I think somebody mentioned that people here play on the GamersWithJobs (GWJ) server too, but as far as I can tell it’s always empty when there isn’t an event, and then password protected when there is, so I’ve never been able to play there.

You know, all this asking kind of makes me want to rent a QT3 TF2 server.

GWJ now has two servers, a publicly accessible one and a password-protected one. The public server is intended as a warm-up area while they wait for players to log on for the evening, and used as overflow space once the private server fills up. Several GWJers have admin rights on the pub, to handle “excessively disruptive” players.

Gaining access to the private server is a combination of introducing yourself on their forums, joining the Steam group, and petitioning for addition the password distribution list. It’s also recommended that you play on the public GWJ server for a while to prove that you aren’t a total jerk.

I’m happy so far with the new system, even having been a regular TF player, I never got any unlocks. I get occasional incidental achievements, but actual unlocks rarely happened, particularly as a medic because holy crap, they’re hard to do without grinding on a server.

I’m not sure how I feel about item trading, but, I like how I can both unlock via achievement and luck, seeing as I may even have something soon as a pyro.

Although damn, too many spies! It’s my second most played class, but everyone is watching for them tonight and really killing my groove.

Also I want my soldier update! And then demo update! I never play demo, but soldier is my number one class, and I bet I’d rack those achievements up fast :P

Oh, and I guess engineer. At least valve is really moving fast on updates lately.

I got zero spy unlocks but all the sniper ones (second least played class FTL). The Cloak and Dagger seems absolutely amazing; that’s the one I’m most looking forward to. Time to try logging into an empty server and idling my way to some items before getting kicked by console or somesuch…
