First time I’ve played TF2 on the Mac. Played it like, once, on the 360.

Something’s really odd though – my mouse 2, not even an Apple mouse, doesn’t like Mouse 2. It does the action on the release… so that it doesn’t actually work properly.

Turns out it was xGestures, a plugin that I have that gives me gestures in all apps.

Conveniently, the only app I need it in is Safari, who’s latest version added extensions directly into it, and I found a gestures addon for it (albeit, semi primitive). So, removed xGestures, all problems solved.

That is incredibly awesome. I love TF2 so much. Like the author, I hope that this is actually Valve’s doing. It seems like the sort of thing they’d do.

So a while back, Valve announced the polycount contest (link) where modders can submit remodels of existing weapons/hats which may then be included as part of a future update.

Hereare the final contestants. Most of them come with introductions in the style of the valve update blogs. They’re pretty great.

It seems that the golden wrench is awarded to people while crafting. There are 100 total, and it may or may not be limited to 25 per day.

Edit: Official page says “A further 75 golden wrenches can be found through crafting all this week”.

Edit2: Official page says “Also note, wrenches can be found up until the 100th wrench has gone out. There is no per-day limit on the number of wrenches found, and distribution has been designed to be fair to all timezones. Every 25th wrench found will result in the release of more information on the Engineer Update.”

7 more wrenches until the next update. I’d love to try and get a golden wrench, but I’ve never found enough items to make crafting really worthwhile.
