sluggo, what does it matter? Do you enjoy playing up until you get switched? It’s just names on a scoreboard, who cares really?

Unless I’m playing Sniper and need the MVP for that achievement I could care less if what team wins or loses. Unless we get steamrolled because my stupid team consists of all spies and engies or something.

Because then the next round you’re stuck on the losing team and those fucking idiots won’t STAND ON THE POINT GODDAMMIT.

think of it as a compliment, sluggo. although getting on a bad team sucks. the ones that never push the kart after you kill yourself wiping out the sentries. the ones that ignore the spy you managed to set on fire. the ones that call for medic, then run in circles around you so you can’t click on them or run away.

Personally I find it annoying because I get (relatively) invested in the team I am in, thinking about how to win, what tactics I’ll use, and spending all my efforts working towards that goal - suddenly being shoved on the other team and having to do the exact opposite is psychologically jarring, if that’s not too dramatic. If you aren’t that concerned with objectives and just want to run around killing people then I can certainly see why it wouldn’t matter, but personally I tend to be quite objective-focused in games.

When on a losing team, well, I just see it as character building. I mean really, it is just a game. What better way to improve than to be pushed with overwhelming odds stacked up against me?

I don’t mind team swaps too much, as long as it’s not two or three in a row. Then it’s a little disenchanting.

Normally, though, if I’m carrying a team I just enjoy the chance to turn the game around with the odds against me already!

I hate team switching because my little reptile brain has enough difficulty remembering if I’m trying to kill red guys or blue guys as it is. Trying to swap that in my mind halfway through a match confuses me.

Know the feeling. Yesterday I was on a team and somehow the blue engie on my team was dropping red sentries. Every time someone rounded the corner, they’d start freaking out and shooting like crazy at it, only to realize that it wasn’t shooting back and the Blue engie was upgrading it.

Okay, I admit I do tend to forget that for a death or two. Especially as a spy, that’s a tricky one. You end up sneaking around your base all stealthy-like, then realize “Oh…wait. Change. Shit.” As opposed to sneaking around all stompy flashy like?

Well, most spies actually do kinda do that, so I guess it’s an appropriate statement.

I’ve been teamswitched multiple times IN THE SAME GAME, which pisses me off to no end.

This is the problem I have with it. I even suffer from it sometimes when playing on offense vs. defense maps like Dustbowl. I get used to one color, then comes the switch, then I’m out of it. I’ll have that fatal pause for a moment “wait, I am shooting red or blue this time?” then I get gibbed.

However, I think this is another hilarious aspect of TF2, at least sometimes. It can be annoying when you get switched multiple times in a short span of time (team scramble because one side is getting smoked followed by autobalancing when the numbers get out of whack followed by side and color change from an offense/ defense transition).

Yeah, I invariably forget what color I am. I’m a terrible spy. Maybe.

That’s partly why I prefer arena these days. You don’t run into skewed teams as often, and if they are skewed they don’t stay so for long (most servers rebalance after every 3 consecutive wins.) Also, less colour confusion since you start each round staring at your teammates’ backs.

The Polycount contest winners have been announced! It’s anyone’s guess as to how long it’ll take Valve to figure out gameplay properties to attach to the weapons so they can actually patch them in, though.

Apparently they are giving the sniper a dart gun called the Sydney Sleeper. That sounds terrible, I feel a few rage quits coming on.

I wonder what the Eternal Reward will do. Hard to imagine anything better than the current knife.

Probably have a slow component like Natasha I’d guess.

Not sure, might just do what the current knife does with a new model.

Word is the new weapons aren’t just new skins, but will each have their own stats.

I would make the new knife have a higher powered regular attack but slower ready time for a backstab.

The Holy Mackerel might just convince me to start playing scout.

The crocodile camouflage is awesome, too. Wonder how it will work in the game?

sniper cloak while in water maybe or the ability to blend in with things that are green ? :D
