This update is making me want to reinstall the game again. The meet the medic video inspired me, considering medic was my main and favourite class to play.

“Kill me” “Later.” Love it.
The meet the Medic video is awesome. Probably the best so far.
And it’s interesting that ANY purchase in the Mann Co Store will upgrade you, permanently. So you could upgrade for like …a dollar. Well, technically it would cost you whatever the minimum denomination is for Steam Wallet funds, which I think is $5. But really, who doesn’t own TF2 by this point?
I’m not worried. I’m sure we’ll come across a cheater every now and again, but VAC does a good job against kiddie casual cheaters and the community does a decent job at splitting servers between wacky griefer areas and straight player areas.
Now that the game is free forever, It would be neat to try to get a bunch of QT3 people on a server together, especially people who’ve never played before. Maybe not this weekend, since the servers might be swamped, but maybe in a week or two? Might be worth starting a new thread to get people to sign up.
I’d be in for a QT3 TF2 event.

I could be persuaded to dust off my flamethrower.
The way to do this would be to seed an empty server if we can get say, 8 people.
Malphigian’s TF2 server used to attract up to 16 qt3’ers on peak time IIRC.
I’d be interested, always wanted to play TF2 (I do actually own it, just never got around to installing and playing it).
Yeah me too. Itching to try out the Liberty Launcher.

My meager playtime and I are interested.

I’d be up for this as well. Probably a good idea to set it up via the Qt3 Steam group.
Sign me up. I was never able to get in on a good game while the Qt3 server was up. Didn’t help that I only play in the wee hours of the night, I guess.
What’s the plan, we just all home in to some random pub server?

My TF2 has 45 hours played but I think it’s only logged half or less of my total play time.
That’s a roundabout way of saying yes, I am up for TF2. I left just before the Soldier vs. Demo update finished for no real reason, although I wasn’t a fan of the Payload Race map.
Do we have a voice server or are we using the built-in one?

The in-game voice communications are quite good. I think they’re using the Skype codec these days.
Is there a specific server people are thinking of using? I know we’ve gotten a lot of recommendations on and off in the past, but I don’t know which ones are still running, etc.
Or would it work better to just get people to start playing, and self-sort to a lightly loaded server once people are online?

I have never played TF2, but I would like to give it a shot. Can anyone give me advice on where to start?
Download Steam, install TF2, train a bit, find a server, shoot people in da face? :D
Heavy and Pyro are both a bit more forgiving as a “point and kill” generic front-line unit than Soldier, which has a low ROF, slow projectile, and small magazine.
