Nor could I, and it looked like fun.

Yeah, the password was on the page for the event. I was there as was Iron Xides.

What was the event?

My fridge is stocked with birthday beer and I am ready to dish out -and receive- the drunken pain. Let’s see some more bodies on the server tonight. Join the Qt3 group if you haven’t already.

I posted an announcement to the group with the Deke Lord password in case anyone doesn’t have it. I don’t know if there’s going to be enough people to need it, though.

Thanks - I’ll update the event with the proper password when I get home tonight.

As always, festivities kick off at 10 PM EST and runs until whenever. We usually start on the Deke Lord server (and stayed there last week), or switch to Garbage Day if we don’t have enough people. With an exploit free Badlands, and nothing but snow in the Northeast, there’s no better plan for the night than drinking (especially you snipers!) and playing TF2…

Wherever there’s a heavy lumbering in plain sight, I’ll be there.

sigh I’m getting this sourceTV garbage again, I do autoretry on the full server, asking it to join me when a spot opens. It does a few minutes later, but I’m in SourceTV, not in the game, with no apparent way to join.

I asked this last time with no result, am I the only person this keeps happening to? How do I turn it off entirely? I pretty much never want to watch people play.

For one thing, don’t try to auto-join. Also, it’s a server setting, so you really can’t do anything. There is a very small possibility that you’re actually using the wrong IP address though.

Yeah, just happened to me, too.

Wow, Steam community stuff really works. Full server, can’t get in :)

Finally worked just by using “alert me” and waiting for a spot to open that way. Yay.

While I’m whining though! I could do without the novelty maps (all melee). I know, I’m dull.

Yeah, that all melee gets tedious quickly.

You know, the PoE guys have some of the most interesting swears.

Also, when almost an entire team was composed of characters from The Wire - pure comedy gold. Being healed by Stringer Bell was quite something…

Well the server just crashed for the second time, so I’m out. Seemed pretty full for most of the night - anyone play on Garbage Day?

Some good times tonight before the servers apparently melted down. For some reason I can’t hit a damn thing while playing on Badlands.

Sitting there healing Jonathan Crane and getting a fully charged uber while waiting to go into the last point on Labor, I saw the voice exclamation mark pop up over your head and realized you were probably talking to me but I couldn’t hear anything. That moment right there was almost enough to make me wish I had a headset for voice chat so I could panic and say I don’t know what you’re asking me to do without dropping the controls to type.

I guess the server was blowed up when I tried to connect. It was showing 0/24. :(

I ended up on the server with the lowest ping to me. This is still the best game of 2007 IMO, hands down. Team Fortress 2 will still be reverberating through online gaming five or ten years from now.

Whatever you do, don’t get a headset! You kill me enough when you’re on the other team, I don’t want you coordinating with your teammates.

So, yeah, get a headset!

I agree with a proviso:
TF2: GOTY for Multi-player/Pwning others
Portal: GOTY for Single-player/Pwning self

I tried to take a TF2 break at 50 hours in.
Then again at 100 hours.
Then 150.

I’m sure I could have done something more productive with those 150 in, what, 4 months? 5? But for stress relief, it is probably worth it. An hour a day keeps the hate monster away. Beyond that goal, my incentive is to improve my personal bests in all the scored categories.

I would like to take this moment to thank Calistas for the most awesome sniper battle ever in TF2.

The party maps were for the most part bogus, except for Hall of Death which had some great moments…mainly because as a sniper I could shoot pretty much randomly and was sure to hit something.
