Huh. My experience playing demoman (which admittedly is mostly spamming pipebombs), stickies can’t be exploded until after they set. Basically I remember firing some off, soon after hitting the trigger, but having the most recent sticky remain. Did I imagine this experience?

Yeah, on Dustbowl 3, I like to sticky the bridge where it meets the stairs up from the canyon. It’s a good way to cover two approaches, and you have a good chance of throwing the medic (and sometimes the uber-ee) into the canyon. I suppose I should play with patterns that are designed to do that.
I haven’t played since the ammo capacity was reduced, but I expect it makes it much harder to dominate as a demo.

There’s a timer so you can’t immediately blow it but they don’t have to touch a surface to explode or anything. If you fire one in a nice long arc you can easily blow it in the air.
Considering we ended up having to pick an ad-hoc server at the last minute, Friday night was pretty well attended. While it was completely empty before we all jumped in, a few guys from the clan that ran the server popped in, maybe 4 or 5 of them. On the first few maps of Badlands, the Qt3 All Stars got rocked pretty hard, but when it switched back to maps we’re all familliar with, the clan guys got beaten back, and even thumped by the end. What the Qt3 group lacks in cohesion, we make up for in terms of pure gaming ability. Ahem.
Also, the voice chats explaining to the uninitiated what Qt3 was were absolutely priceless. Even choggle pants got a mention - we definitely missed having Whitta there.
As Dave Long pointed out, it wasn’t quite the same without some of the PoE guys, but they showed up a bit later in the evening - and Dave’s right, they bring a certain something.
Having the server on All Talk was interesting - I hadn’t played with that before, and it was kind of fun hearing chatter from the other side.
Malphigian - if you can have a backup server available (I noted that our usual servers were back online Saturday) that would be great!
It sounds to me like they just hacked together different pyro .wav files to get the sound for that video.
It’s done. All set up and appears to be running smoothly.
I’m sadly out of town this weekend, but what I’ll do is fire it up on friday early, and I’ll PM the info as well as the rcon password to you.

I don’t remember who did it, but right before I jumped off when we were playing (roughly) 6 v 6, I sort of accidentally lured a heavy around a corner and was looking at him through the glass, buying time before he waxed me. I started to hit taunt and when I looked up he was being stabbed in the back by a teammate. I haven’t cackled that hard in a while.
I rushed a group of 3 snipers on Well today as a pyro, and when they backpedaled to get away from me they all stepped right into the path of the train. Killed all 3. I didn’t get any points, but it was awesome.
If I were you, I’d just quit TF2. I don’t think you can squeeze any more pure awesome from the game as you did in that situation.
Absolutely - sorry I haven’t updated the event under steam - I’ll do it when I get home. (10pm est start time, all welcome, the usual servers, etc.)
I saw that our regular servers were back up earlier this week, but didn’t check today. Hopefully…

I haven’t played in a while, and everytime I get a hankering for some multiplayer I can’t remember the passwords. Are they stored somewhere super-sekrit?
The sekrit vault is within Steam - join the Qt3 group under steam, check “Announcements” and all will be revealed.

Great, I’m already in it. You’d think that’d be the obvious place but nooo, the other group I play with has to hide it in people’s profiles or somewhere completely different, so I thought I’d check. Thanks.
Finally got that Sentry Gunner achievement. People just kill your sentries right away now… being engineer is too stressful for my tastes.
Did it on the 3rd part of Dustbowl, defence, first point in the right window. Got 14 kills in a row before they took out my Sentry with stickies.
It also helps if your team camps their team with stickies to prevent the demomen from stickying your sentry.
Anyhow, I won’t be playing engineer for a while… if ever again.
Despite the pick up nature of the game (and some befuddled clanners we ran into) Leap Fortress last week was a lot of fun. Won’t you join the Qt3 Groupthink for some TF2 tonight? All skill levels welcome!
Our traditional Lord Deke server seems hale and hearty tonight, so let’s plan to meet at the usual server at 10PM EST. One last chance to play TF2 before those time devils steal an hour from your hard earned weekend on Sunday!

You have to have space to set up. If your team doesn’t do that for you, it’s a bad team.
That window is the usual spot and demos can spam that area pretty thoroughly if they’re not flanked by a gun and dispense on the far side of the point, which they’ll also spam, so they must be suppressed by 2+ medic/heavy combos and 2 pyros for spy checking.

I will be there tonight, on time, ready to DETSROY!
Edit: OK, i was late.
Aw. Pyros ought to get credit for everything bad that happens to people they set on fire - it’s always their fault.
Actually the map is Goldrush and the game mode is called Payload. They took a while to settle on a name for the latter, and confirmed it to us just a little too late for us to mention it in our interview with Robin that’s just gone on-sale, so I don’t think that’s out there in any official form yet.
