Ugh, more exploits to be wary of I just encountered on fatgamer.net’s server.
Gravelpit:
- In A: a jump/crouch exploit to get behind the sign labelled “B” above the tunnel leading into B, and shoot out without being seen. Not fun when there’s a heavy there.
- In A: some exploit that allows an engie to slip under the ground level and place a TP and SG underground in the middle of A.
Two Fort:
Actually yes, errrr… I mean no, I’m not OCD. Whenever I’m loading or have a 10+ second wait to respawn I tend to see what my least played class is and play that for a while. Unless there’s an obvious need for a class, then I’ll hop into that.
Also, I sure am glad that I have yet to see any exploits in action.
Wow. Plus the one in Dustbowl 1, this is some serious bad juju.
I do love that the cow in 2fort is fake, though.
All 3 of those stats are from 1 Really sweet game of cp_granery, alot of give and take over the three middle points. I pretty much healed what ever was near me and always focused on being where the guys with guns were, notice the 9k+ healing in one life stat too. If you can keep pushing back but then get pushed back you can end up with alot of caps and defenses, the trick is to avoid the easy mode pipe bomb insta gibbers aka people who primarly play demo.
Has anyone tried the Happycow map? It’s basically Goldrush, but with the wooden cut-out cow from 2Fort on the train tracks. Just played it for the first time at lunch, and it’s the most fun I’ve had with TF2 in ages. Sheer, random madness.
It probably helped that I was on a pwnshop server, where you can roll dice to get either a huge buff (100% crits for 40 seconds was a nice preview of how that Ubercritter medigun unlock might feel) or a catastrophic nerf (you will explode in ten seconds. Run at the enemy). The combination was the TF2 equivalent of Blurnsball in Futurama.
Multi-crit! Cow locked! Nuke incoming! NO-ONE IS LOOKING AFTER THE COW!

Has anyone figured out a good team approach to the PoE Circlejerk map? It seems that most teams split into two, and then mostly charge offense, while a few stragglers either deliberately play defense, or just move too slowly and get caught up by the offense of the other team.

It’s hard to coordinate on that map. I’ve suspected for a while that 2+ engies with some protection (pyro and heavy close to dispensers), could make a decent stand at one point while everyone else rushes. That should be able to handle scouts and spies until multiple level 3s are up, then it’s about uber-busting.

Here’s a cute video of someone’s girlfriend playing TF2 for the first time.
The second one is an extension of the first one, actually. The process is thus: engi builds dispenser and jumps onto it; engi crouch-jumps, clipping through ceiling, and hits crouch button again in mid-jump; engi is now stuck in ceiling and can build teleporter exit; finally, after teleporting through, the engi can hop over a short wall and walk beneath the front of A.
It’s the same principle used to build in the sky on one of the Dustbowl stages. You know the stage with two lower tunnels and an upper left tunnel (attackers’ perspective) leading to the second control point? If an engi takes the right tunnel (of the two lower ones), goes up the stairs, and clips through the ceiling above the stacked wooden boxes, access to the magical sky plateau will be granted.
I only know this because I spectated as admin while some people in the 1UP/GFW server were teaching each other.

Hehehe.
“Hey! You stole my friend!”
“I don’t see how a suit is practical wear for a war ground.”
I think I’m in love. Such a nice little accent and sensibilities.
H.
“What’s the point of being invisible if I can’t shoot?”
“I like being a medic, everyone is so nice.”
I like the part where she stands RIGHT in front of her team’s sniper and says “Can he see through me?” And then his head explodes. So, no.
And she does have a great voice. I would, for example, listen to a car commercial in which she discussed safety features and lease terms.

Is there any way to get your kill to death ratio in this game?
Too damn cute.
Great timing on the editing, too.
shadari, you can see your kill count and death count when you hit tab, so if you do some quick math you’ll figure out your ratio.
Yeah I know about that, but what about my lifetime K/D ratio?
Not sure that’s possible. The stats page that’s available from one’s SteamID page only gives information about maximum values (though there is an “Accumulated Points” score, and I’m not sure what it reflects). My guess is that you’re at the mercy of each individual server.
Looking through my stats page reminded me to be upset about not having the World Traveler achievement, despite the meter showing 6/6 completed (as it damn well should, with over 200 hours logged!).
