Do we actually know that to be the case? I imagine there must have been some sort of employment contract. Are you assuming this based on the fact that they recently got copyright assignments from team members or is there some actual evidence there were no employment agreements at all with the team members? Getting the copyright assignments could just be making sure all the "i"s are dotted and "t"s crossed.
