Thanks for the info all. I know nothing is ever 'simple, but if S Korea stopped investing, and China remains all pissy, then Kim Jong has nothing left, correct? I imagine we still send food over, but no money ourselves.

After seeing this thread I picked up Pyongyang based on Grendal’s recommendation. What an eye-opening book. I flew through it in an evening but some of the things they have going on in North Korea are unbelievable.

I haven’t yet finished all the shows Roguefrog listed but man, great links from both of you. Thanks for those.
