Does that include the 360 version? So can I get the 360 version, and then get the GOG version for free?

How does that work?

From April 17th on you’ll be able to register your game here with whatever key you have in order to add it to your GOG account.

Hmm. This pleases me greatly.

Does anyone know if you can transfer save games from The Witcher (1) from Windows to Mac?

Good deal, but I’m too lazy to start a new account somewhere and register it since I’ll probably forget all about it in a week. And I have a disc retail version so I will always have my own backup copy whenever I need it. Good deal though and just makes me love them more and more as developers.

Probably not, in the presentations they said they were giving away 1.1 million free GOG copies, which is the amount PC version sold in.
They are generous, but not insane…I would hope.

Rats, that would have so easily solved my “which version to get?” dilemma. Oh well, it’s a moot point anyway until I finish the first Witcher. I lost my save game again so I have to start over a third time and get to the Chapter 2 swamp again, and maybe this time get past it.

6 min. short video, unrelated to the main story, about the witcher’s life.

He shouldn’t waste so much time after drinking those potions. He only has a 5 minute timer.

Maybe he did an alchemist build which have a bigger timer!

Answer: Yes!

I like how true to books that short film was and wish the games were also as true as that, even if it would not be as “fun” perhaps.

The preload is available now.

Do we know if we have to replay the whole thing to see new content?

I don’t know why you wouldn’t do it anyway. New cinematics throughout, new characters, although I think at least one new quest is something added to Chapter 3 to fill that out a bit.

12 gb download for me.

I don’t generally replay stuff and I already went back to TW2 to see the alternative middle chapter.

I think I’d rather they’d invested the effort in an expansion.

So much more that changes on in-game actions and decisions besides chapter 2.

I think I’m happy they did it the way they did it.

Yeah the original tradeoff was between expansion and sequel. Hopefully it’s only a small team working on this. It’s already been a year.

CD Projekt loves their enhanced editions. That was good for me for TW1, since I didn’t play it until the enhancement. Sinced I played TW2 at the beginning, it loses some of the impact. I guess they figure it’s cheap or their fans love it or it keeps the game selling. I suppose whatever they want to do is fine.

This is really about the console release and then using that to best advantage. They (sensibly) decided not to just offer a months-old port as their first foray on to consoles and this way they get a new PC sku as well to put on shelves and keep sales ticking, while the existing PC fans feel they got something as well.
