Small tweak to improve movement:
C:\GOG Games\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\config\platform\pc\platformgameplay.cfg (or steam alternative)
Look for:
LeftStickSensitivity=0.7
And change to:
LeftStickSensitivity=1.0
It feels much closer to Witcher 2 now.
If anyone else is playing with a combination of Keyboard/Mouse and Controller (such as myself) and finds they are getting annoyed by the constant notifications that the Gamepad was detected, here is a fix thanks to a post on Reddit:
"Go to your Witcher 3 folder location and go into this folder:
“…\The Witcher 3\bin\config\base”
Open up “hidden.ini” with notepad.
Change “LockControlScheme=0” to “LockControlScheme=2”
This will get rid of the annoying message box and will always show the controls for the controller. You still can switch to your KB/M whenever you want, but it won’t display the KB/M controls on the hud."
I just tested it and it seems to work like a charm (you’ll still get notified of a gamepad being detected when you first launch the game, I did notice).
Cool thanks, yeah it drive me nuts when I take a screenshot with the F12 on the keyboard. :p

I was a bit disappointed to read that there were, what I thought to be, so few quests in a game that was reportedly “humongous beyond belief”. So I’m glad you did some diggin’.
Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou.
BTW, GoG Galaxy is auto downloading patch 1.03 now.

Doesn’t work for me, I still get the box popup. Steam version.

I haven’t had any crashes and I’m using the latest NVidea driver for my GTX 970. I just left the first area though (the one after the Witcher fortress), so maybe the crashes start after that.
Is this the effect that adds more of a dark outline to stuff, like in the Borderlands games?
Size? I recall reading on Reddit yesterday a 600mb patch was in the works.

In fact, no herbalist had a supply except the very first one in the game. Fortunately her supply was like 16, so I could mostly stock up.
How do you check this? Galaxy is super confusing to me, Steam it is not. Also how do you get a desktop shortcut for a Galaxy game?
Edit: Well it looks to be downloading a 600Mb something right now although i had it verify files to do that so I’m not sure it it was supposed to happen automatically.
There is a download queue in bottom left corner.
GoG Galaxy tells me the patch failed. So 'm verifying and seeing if it will try again… I wonder if editing the ini file in the Game installation folder is the culprit…
I forget the exact size. I think it was between 500 and 600 megs.
I have the GOG version, but I very much doubt that matters. It’s just a .ini file in the \bin folder wherever the game is installed. Open the file again and double-check your change was saved, maybe? Also, if you were in-game when you made the change, you may have to quit and re-launch for it to take effect. Outside of that, not really sure what else could be going on - it was working for me, but I only played for a few minutes as I was getting ready for work, so who knows?
643M according to Galaxy; it is trying to d/l the patch now, but the rate has slowed to a crawl. I need about a bajillion players to log off the Galaxy servers, stat! :)
The ini file is in the game folder so it might be possible that Steam is redownloading the file and overwriting his changes.
About the only thing I actively dislike about Galaxy (allowing for it being in beta) is that it downloads the raw uncompressed game files. On a day like this, with the entire userbase trying to download a patch, at least some of us are seeing why this might not be ideal. :)
For those of you experiencing crashes on PC – are you playing in true full screen or borderless window mode? I’ve read that some people have improved the crash issue by switching to true full screen. I’ve been playing in that mode for over 10 hours and I haven’t experienced a single crash (AMD video card).
Edit: Also try setting FPS to unlimited instead of locking it at 30 or 60.
