Using the crossbow underwater sucks so much. It combines the shitty diving/swimming movement with the crossbow aiming. Not a great combination.
I don’t have an issue with the crossbow under water. Feels fine to me. I love how it one shots drowners.
yeah, if it didn’t 1-shot things, I would hate it

Huh, I didn’t even know you could use it under water… I had basically been luring drowners out to duke it out with them.
Later, you’ll have to fight underwater.

I really like this aspect of the game as well. It really makes me as a player relate to the whole “Witchers don’t work for free” credo. When I’m presented an option at the end of the quest to decline payment… that’s a tough decision to make. I mean yeah, I feel bad for this peasant that can’t really afford to pay me, but a Witcher’s gotta eat (and repair that gear).

I am not looking forward to that.
Yeah, I take payment every time whereas in other games (DA for example) I would often turn down rewards. The game really does a good job of getting across the feel of being a witcher for hire.

I’m using high too. And yep, I’ve been checking those tree trunks!
Does anyone know how to knock down a high up bee nest? I’ve tried Aard and using the crossbow, but no luck. And them honeycombs are worth a lot!
Maybe I have to wait till I have the Igni upgrade that gives the flamethrower effect?

A lot of the time though, if you turn down payment, you get something else of value though. Sometimes, significantly MORE valuable.
And sometimes nothing at all. I should’ve taken that Nilfgaardian’s money instead of trying to make a point about it. He’s just going to use it to kill people anyway.
Probably best to role play and not worry about it.
Regarding payments from the poor: personally, I see my job as capital improvements. For example, securing a well helps the community thrive. Capitalism, ho!

Yikes, I just bumped into a quest 28 levels above my current level. Started off OK and turned ugly.
I flip-flopped on that choice probably three times before finally taking it, I figured its the empires money, they don’t give a shit. And chicken legs aren’t free!
@robc04 , yeah if you see red skulls next to just about every dude you see in that quest, bad things are about to go down.
Yeah, when the old pan lady offered me money I didn’t even get the option to turn it down. After that I kinda thought well if the old lady can afford to pay a witcher so can the rest of you jerks.
So it turns out you can swipe up or down on the trackpad and it opens the map. lol. Also you can hold the trackpad for a long press and it goes to your inventory.
That old lady must have yelled at me 10x while I was in that hut. I was like OMG shut up, I am looting!
“YES! I found your damn pan! Give me a minute! I’m rifling through all the bags and chests fer chrissakes!”
Anyone come across the dude tied up by the water in Velen? I hope that turns out to be something awesome down the line.
I thought Geralt getting nagged by an old lady during his Batman investigation was hilarious.
