Sure, but make it optional - screw compromised font size. I don’t need a 500pt font when my head is less than 2 feet from the monitor. I have the hud font size on the smallest setting.

I’m with Nithrakis - I already set the HUD size to small and I don’t want it getting any bigger than it is. I’m on a 22" monitor sitting at a desk and I can see everything (even the N in the mini-map!) just fine.

I’m good with the font size as-is, but options are always nice. If people need a bigger font, then it would be cool for them to have it.

If it’s some kind of mandatory “this is the new font suckas!” thing, then I won’t be pleased.

Eh, I don’t think this is really true.

I mean, I generally play my PS4 from my recliner in my living room, and the screen is a good deal smaller in my overall field of view than when I’m gaming at my PC, I think.

Options are always nice, but the previous patch already did the UI bigger without given the user a choice to leave it as it was before. That’s why some people may seem confrontational about it.

In other news, I beat the tourney. I actually only need one more try to beat the damn hafling in the first round, I dare to say the next opponents were a bit easier. Still, some really great matches, in one of them it was nail-baiting:
I beat her in the first round playing few cards, in the second round we both went broke and used up all our cards, with my opponent winning by only 4 points. So then the game went to the third round… I thought she had won me because I was totally empty, but of course she was the same, with both players without cards it was a tie… but wait, I was Nilfgaard, they win ties!
No wait, my opponent was Nilfgaard too, so it was a true draw! Even being in a single elimination tourney.
We had to play again with the same faction, and it was there were I beat hear very close, 175-186. Epic.

Damn. I’m never going to beat the Gwent tournament.

Galaxy looks like it downloaded an update, but the changelog is still for patch 1.04.

The only download I noticed was for the two new DLCs.

Are you just trolling me at this point? :-) I wrote “font size for me”, not for “everyone”.

I play on a HTPC + TV; I need TV-sized fonts. The font size should not be tied to the platform as is being done, since this is not one size fits all but depends on the gaming setup. Trying to find a compromise value is just going to make everyone unhappy. Still unreadable on a TV, but taking up too much space on a monitor.

Which deck are you using?

Well, I think I can agree that it doesn’t hurt to give people more options in terms of fonts, especially since the larger fonts will seemingly work and not be terrible since they’re doing it for consoles.

Nothing that good, that’s for sure. I honestly haven’t been playing much Gwent at all. At least, I think I haven’t. I’ve played maybe a dozen games of Gwent in my 60+ hours so far. I’ve dabbled.

I like Gwent. I like it a lot, but I think of it more as a side activity in The Witcher 3, than something I need to do now. Like the horse racing.

I guess that’s the problem then. I play at every chance I get and I steamrolled that tournament using siege foltest and spy heavy deck. My highest round score with it has been 233.

Where is all this horse racing you guys are talking about? There’s one quest by the Baron to race 3 dudes real quick, then a brief goofy interlude during a main quest.

I’m not too worried about that tournament. Just means I need to look up where to find more spy cards or the Foltest siege leader card.

There’s like 11 or 12 total optional horse races in the game. They aren’t noted on the map. They’re like the fist-fights you can do.

Random vent – nothing to see here, unless you enjoy the bitter tears of minor misfortune…

Argh… I had everthing set up so that I could launch Galaxy from Steam, then launch the game from Galaxy and use the Steam overlay to monitor my FPS and take screenshots. Both Steam and Galaxy had updates today, and now when I do this the game drops to the desktop as soon as I launch it. Why can’t i have nice things!!! :(

Congrats, I beat it too using my Northern deck(only one I ever use) and I too found that the first opponent was the hardest(took me 4 tries to get that sucker down). Even beat the final match on the first try so I definitely feel it gets easier throughout the tournament.

Why not use Fraps http://www.fraps.com/download.php (or Shadowplay if you have an Nvidia card)? Is it because of achievements or something in that regard?

Favorite game moment so far:

I pass a bandit camp on my way to a village that just happens to be very close to said camp. I attract the bandits’ attention and they start chasing me. I reach the village and find my quest contact immediately. I initiate my conversation with the NPC. During our conversation, I keep hearing dull “thwack” sounds. Then I notice that I’m being shot by arrows…and they are appearing on my chest for a few seconds before disappearing. Thankfully, during the course of the conversation, they must have grown tired of shooting me as they were gone by the time the cut scenes ended. But it was hilarious to watch my body being shot repeatedly by arrows while I’m nonchalantly discussing politics with a village elder.

I was primarily using the Steam overlay to take screenshots and upload them to my Steam account. The FPS indicator in the Steam overlay was nice to have as an objective reference while I was tweaking the graphics options, but otherwise isn’t something I really need, at least not enough to bother installing other utilities just for that one feature.
